Sat in the dentist waiting room yesterday, the fella next to me takes a phone call. At first, it was crystal clear and i couldn't help over hearing, it's a pretty small room!

It's his son on the line, sounds to be at least a teenager, maybe 20, he says "alright dad, can you talk?"

Dad "yeah, what's the matter?"

Son "something happened today, i need to tell you about it, don't worry, i'm ok"

I immediately think this sounds good, i probably shouldn't be listening.....

Dad "ok.... What's going on?"

Son "something happened this afternoon, I've been thinking about it and it's made me really nervous"

Dad "are you sure you're ok?"

At this point, he shuffled around a bit and i couldn't hear any more of the conversation!! Just the dad saying "don't worry about it, it'll be ok, you did the right thing."

The call ends and bang on queue he gets called in for his appointment.

Now i know i should respect the guys privacy and maybe something serious happened, but bloody hell i wanted to know what happened!! Anyway, I've still got toothache as karma for ear wigging....

When I went to open a bank account I was sat at the table and then someone came and sat at the next table.
Mr Corporate Joviality greeted his customer with big smiles and asked how he could help.
The man replied that he had just been told that he had 6 months to live and wanted to sort out his affairs.
Everyone that was in earwigging range gulped a little bit.

Was he trying to tell his dad he'd bought a road bike?

Two comments:
- don't earwig
- customers of corporates (banks specifically) should insist on using fully enclosed rooms when discussing finances
