My wife bought me the Rush TIme Machine DVD but it will only play on one Tv DVD combo. The opening sequences are ok but the concert itself has no sound. Can anyone help please before I smash my head off the wall!

What region is the disc ? What region(s) can the DVD player process ?
You could use something like AnyDVD or Handbrake? to create a region free copy.
That said, remember that home-taping is killing the music industry and some of our favourite film stars are down to their last few mansions.
Finally sorted. Changed the stereo settings on my player.. DOH! Thanks
my Samsung TV is the same for some DVD's. Turns out it was playing the talking bits through a non-existent centre speaker, so you got all the background with and nothing else. Worked through the Surround Sound OK though.
