Does anyone know of some electronic device or something i can use to harmlessly scare ducks off?

Let me explain: I like to fish for Carp and more specifically i like to fish for Carp on the surface of the water in between lilly pads etc. My bait choice is usually dog biscuits or bread- works a treat for catching Carp.
Unfortunately ducks are also rather fond of them, so to scare them off i usually a) chuck stones at them (a bit anti social to be honest!) b) frantically wave my arms and hiss at them (makes you look like a prat!) c) Wave my landing net at them (does bugger all!).

Its annoying- anyone know of any little tricks?

I use a shotgun.

You can eat duck. Carp is very bland.

Hahaha- i had thought of a Cormarant, but it'd just eat all the fish!

Try a duck call.

Whilst mincing along the canal path recently, I saw some ducks swimming along and thought I'd say 'hello' to them using the duck call that I normally use to warn walkers of approaching bikes.

The daft blighters seemed to dislike my call and promptly scarpered.

I could lend you my Springer Spaniel, there'd be no ducks left around pretty sharpish, probably not many fish either the way he splashes around! 🙂

Capture and rape one of the ducks.

Word will get around and they'll give you a wide berth.

It doesn't really work as well if you have to explain it, brucey.

Didnt Minnie Mouse try that with Donald Duck once LOL

I did try catapulting stones at them- it did scare them a bit but they just went and got their mates and ganged up on me....

I used to get annoyed too but I just learnt to live with them. Then one time a bird got hold of my bait, went into a panic and tried to fly off with the hook lodged in its beak 🙁

Have you tried water? Apparently water and ducks backs repel each other. Try throwing some water at their backs this should see them bump out of the way, much like when you put two 'like' poles of a magnet together
