The Palmer thing at Bedford Autodrome is awesome. It's an expensive day, but the quality of cars and instruction is just amazing.

+1 for the Palmer day at Bedford. I havent done it myself but my mate has and had an awesome time. As said above it is expensive (£750) but appears to be worth it. if i had the money and didnt spend it all on bikes i would definetely be having a go.

Seconded for the Palmer day, absolutely awesome!!

Drove- Palmer Audis, Caterham, Evo summit or other, VX220 turbo, Clio cup car and some funky steel trellis framed Jaguar engined thing, top top day. The instructors all really know there stuff and end up making you go way faster than you ever would on your own, the fact that they can apply and take off the brakes is also pretty cool/helpful!

Did a formula ford day at Castle Combe, a few laps first off in a focus (with tuition) then off on your own in the formula ford. Flipping great fun it was. That said, now that I own a Westfield I can imagine a Caterham slalom day would be pretty amusing.

Done everyman racing supercar experience. It was AWESOME. Drove 5 supercars and the coaches let you take them to the limit, or the limit of your ability.

+1 PalmerSport

I've done two (corporate so no idea on price).

But thought the Palmer Jaguar was the best fun, and once the instructor knows you want to push it...

Yep. I've done a few now. The Ferrari day was ok but a little disappointing to be honest. Driving a fast Fiat wasn't what I expected.

The last one I did was a formula ford day and that was great! Zipping along past all the other cars on the track like they were stood still was ace! In the corners it stuck to the road like glue. Very basic, just an engine, chassis and four wheels but it was lots of fun. Recommended.

There I go now!

BRUMMM!!!!

My mum has told me to look for another one this christmas so I reckon I'll either be going for a rally day or a drift day. Probably the latter.

plus another 1 for formula fords - they are (basic but still a lot of fun) racing cars that are meant for the track, so much better than doing one with a posh road car

I got my GF a mixed one at Castle Combe - she did a Subaru Impreza, Lotus Elise then a Formula Ford (or Renault, or similar - i can't remember). She loved it.
I've done a rallyday at a place in the midlands and that was ok, possibly not as much fun as she had though, as it was based at an old airfield with a gravel section.

As an alternative to a track day, I had a day out with Bespokes that was a sort of treasure hunt around Aylesbury/St Albans way - I think there were half a dozen different cars, you were in pairs, met up every half an hour or so to swap cars/drivers. Very different to track days but great fun.

I've enjoyed the track days I've done at Silverstone - did a touring car taster for my 21st in a Peugeot 309 and for my 30th did an Elise experience. (This info may well date me)
