Anyway A. Although that reminds me I need to change the inside handle on my front door to a knob, as the dog is also a knob and opens the bloody door if I don't lock it. Which is a pain.

Amazing how many of us have them the A way.
Ours are in the kitchen too.

I think B just cups your palm better.

B just looks so wrong and awkward it makes my teeth hurt

I think it's usage is in the name handle. Using your teeth to open it was never in the designers remit.

Hendrix played his guitar with his teeth though.
Makes you think.

Surely B is the way it's designed to function for ergonomics?

A is incorrect assembly.

It's not a question of aesthetics. B allows you to grip the outside of the handle for max leverage. A would encourage you to grip the inside, which would be fine if it didn't require so much force to operate most of them.

Alexa, turn the lights on.”

X4 ...... Not because I hugely agree with it because when ever I've seen this done it takes 4 times before Alexa/hey Google does the right thing ...it's fun to watch though.

We have a flat twisted square profile of fairly solid construction.

Cheap flimsy doors/door handles are a bug bare. When I moved in here you couldn't even slam a door it was made of cardboard and duck spit and would gently waft towards its opening before the air pressure would stop it fully closing.

Like wise the door handles constantly felt like they would come off in your hand when your shut it....

I've revised my position on this since doing a practical test.

The upward curve is there to secure the hand and prevent slippage.

B is incorrect assembly.

I've been checking out Prince Andrew's chalet on Rightmove and he's installed 'A' on all the doors. Makes you think......

I bet there are some people on here who think that diagonal bracing on shed doors and garden gates should point downwards from the hinge side.

Makes my blood boil every time I see that.

Tbh I'm surprised that B is even legal.
