I was meant to post this a good while ago but life has been interesting the last couple of years.Â
Back in December '24 I got invited to my first 'you're officially old' health check with the GP and fit whatever reason I got straight on it.Â
Most things came back fine but my HbA1C was 121. Healthy range is low 30's-42, 42-47 is pre-diabetic, 47+ is diabetic.Â
121 is things could start going very wrong very quickly and had I not gone for the check I could have been very seriously ill.Â
Anyway, I've spent the last 18+ months getting used to life on insulin but that hasn't stopped me doing much at all. Even cracked off a 4hr marathon last October (in sandals).
But yes, if you get a text inviting you for a check I really recommend going - it potentially saved me a lot of grief...
