Singletrack Rookie: Paying creative people, under 30, for printed work

In association with DMR Bikes. If you’ve been waiting for a nudge, this is it.

Are you under 30 years of age? We’re not. Maybe you’re not (send this to someone who is under 30 then please). Anyway, we’re looking to help out young-ish creative types.

We’re looking for photographers and writers. Or photographers who can write. Or writers who can take good photographs. You get the idea.

In conjunction with DMR Bikes we’re going to shine a light on new talent. And we’re going to pay them. Imagine that? Paying creative people for printed work. This is not us just trying to scam a free article.

Getting new talent’s work into a large format medium that lands in people’s hands (AKA a magazine). Real readers with real focus. This is way more than being part of the small format digital scroll scree for all free for all. This is meaningful creation. This is rad. This could be the start of a whole new thing for someone.

The whole campaign is called The Singletrack Rookie. Which you may have guessed by now.

You don’t need a journalism degree. You don’t need a massive following. You do need to be an ideas person. You do need to be original. You do need to be authentic.

What you’ll get if you’re selected

As the Singletrack Rookie, you’ll get your work printed in the October issue of Singletrack Magazine.

You’ll also win a bunch of stuff from DMR Bikes – including another commission to do a cool piece of work for them.

How to enter

You’ll submit two pieces of work. Either two written pieces. Or two photographic pieces. Or one of each if you’re multi-talented.

Written piece: 1000 words

Photographic piece: 6 photos

Email your pieces to editorial@singletrackworld.com (keep the total filesize below 10MB)

Subject line: Singletrack Rookie
Include: your name and phone number (so we can contact you)

Deadline: September 11th, 2026
