Awarded for making the world a safer place.

Can't we just eject all this nonsense out into space?

I'm fervently hoping the first part of this was actually FIFA subtly taking the piss.

And it'd be simpler to grasp the nettle and just fire Trump into space. If only...

You’re clearly not familiar with FIFA’s track record.

They’re probably the most openly corrupt organisation in the world, who exist purely to extract as much money for themselves as possible from ‘the beautiful game’

They worship people like Trump as they make the perfect partners to facilitate this. Don’t forget that it isn’t long back they were lording Vladimir Putin in exactly the same manner

It’s definitely a pretty close call in a two horse race

Need your corrupt, murderous regime sportswashing?  We’re happy to supply that service,  available to the highest bidder. All offers paid direct to our Swiss bank accounts.

Theres never any shortage of crazed megalomaniacs to throw billions (of their citizens/subjects money) at them

They did, however, bless us with what may have been the worst movie ever commercially released. It cost $32 million to make and made $918 on its opening weekend.

Instead of watching that, watch the documentary’FIFA Uncovered’ on Netflix, which details all the corruption and bribery that is its entire reason d’etre

Its no wonder they’ve made such comfortable bedfellows with Putin, the Qataris and now Trump.

I’m just waiting for the World Cup in North Korea. It’s surely the next logical step, where no doubt Kim will also be getting a FIFA Peace Prize

This article in today’s Guardian on Pete Hegseth - the self-titled ‘Minister of War’ is genuinely disturbing. The guy is clearly an absolute psychopath! Which is probably why Trump appointed him.

I’m sure the same people who complained about Obama’s “interference” when he stated one of the likely effects of the UK leaving the EU will be up in arms about Trumps attacks on the EU and proclamations supporting destabilising far right parties across Europe. Yeah, right. The only question that remains is… does he sound like Putin because he wants to be like Putin, or because he has to answer to Putin in someway? Is he a student of Putin, or his asset?

He's siding with his mate Musk. The EU have slapped him with $120 million fine for thinking he can do what the hell he likes regardless of regulation.

So Musk, echoed by the Orange one, has sarted saying the EU are all nazi's. while simulataniously trying to get people who are actual nazi's elected throughout the continent.

You couldn't make it up

Plus using racism as a tool. Because it’s at the core of who they are. Am I the only one that would like Kahn to look to be PM one day, to stick a finger or two up to powerful racists like Trump and Musk across the pond?

If khan ever gets to meet either of them then at the very least khan should hoof them in balls as hard as possible, preferably violent enough to burst them like the pus filled pimples they resemble

I'm not sure who are worst.

On one hand you have the likes of hegseth and vance,  2 individuals who are on record as saying trump is not fit to be president, but cosy up to him to further their own agenda despite knowing he's useless and dangerous

On the other MGT, who is a true believer, genuinely thought trump was the saviour and has finally come come to realisation he's a lying, self serving xxxx

Both types are horrible people, but I have a grudging respect for MGT for at least sticking to her principles, even though her principles are, by and large, awful.

Unlike the others, MGT hasn't had any real political power. If she had then I'd expect her to be no different with everything ultimately signed off by Trump.

(Council on Foreign Relations senior fellow Rebecca) Lissner described the NSS as a “bureaucratic hodgepodge.” Its Indo-Pacific section echoes Trump’s first term – or even Biden-era strategies. The Western Hemisphere chapter is unmistakably influenced by Stephen Miller, the administration’s former immigration architect.
And Europe’s portion bears Vance’s fingerprints. “It is the result of negotiation among different parties,” Lissner said, adding, “all filtered through Trump’s final sign-off.”

It's really weird witnessing the International Order shifting under your feet in real time, huh?

If you've not already done so (I'm sure you have if you pay any attention to politics) But have a read of this (It's the USA's National Security Strategy). It's written so that Trump and the average MAGA voter can understand it, so it's not normal 'diplomatic' speech, and it's only 30 pages, but it's very very clear. I think we're going to witness nuclear proliferation, and what it must have been like at the turn of the last century and the era of the Great Powers (that y'know, kicked off WW1)

Tragically, it's been a bad few days for President Trump's ending of eight wars:

Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda (war ended in June, peace deal formally signed last week)
Congo President Tshisekedi accuses Rwanda of violating peace deal https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/congo-president-tshisekedi-accuses-rwanda-violating-peace-deal-2025-12-08/
200,000 people have now fled their homes https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/200000-flee-new-advance-rwanda-backed-rebels-congo-despite-trump-peace-deal-2025-12-09/

Cambodia and Thailand (war ended in July, signed in October but never accepted by Thailand as anything other than a roadmap)
Families on both sides caught in crossfire as Thai-Cambodian fighting continues https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/families-both-sides-caught-crossfire-thai-cambodian-fighting-continues-2025-12-10/

And now the FIFA peace prize is subject to official complaints to the  FIFA Ethics Committee:
Center to the complaint is Infantino's effusive praise of United States President Donald Trump, as well as world soccer's governing body bestowing a first-of-its-kind FIFA Peace Prize on Trump. https://www.reuters.com/sports/soccer/report-fifa-president-gianni-infantino-accused-ethics-breach--flm-2025-12-09/

And things that I didn't know. President Trump invented the word "caravan", something that he's repeated on several occasions since at least 2022

“I think I came up with that name but somebody did. It’s a great name. Caravan.”

Tourists from dozens of countries including the UK could be asked to provide a five-year social media history as a condition of entry to the United States, under a new proposal unveiled by American officials.

I know it had been getting trickier but well I've never visited USA pretty much never going to happen now.

I'm sure the Mesopotamians, Ancient Greeks and other nomadic tribes in Africa will be happy he has rightfully got the recognition that he deserves for the word.

Heard on news yesterday that the deal Paramount want to do for Warner Bros. (to beat Netflix is a) being part financed by the son of Larry Ellison and b) part financed by a Middle East wealth fund partially run by Jared Kushner (Why has Paramount launched a hostile bid for Warner Bros Discovery?).

Given that the Paramount deal includes CNN (the Netflix one does not), this would mean that the news companies would then fall under the control of the son of a Trump donor and Trump's son in law.

It's written so that Trump and the average MAGA voter can understand it, so it's not normal 'diplomatic' speech,

Given the language and its pretty lightweight content you have to ask what the real purpose of the document is. It doesnt seem like a genuine piece of strategic government policy making. It seems more like a set of podcast talking points

What it echoes is a trope thats common across the whole of the Online Rights - which is the message that things are terrible in ways you can hardly imagine 'somewhere you haven't been'. It's a service all the participants play a part in the for the benefit of their peers.

Its all a game of myth building - an idea that theres an enemy at the gate and the proof of that is other towns like yours, cities like yours, countries like yours have fallen to 'the treat' and if we don't do something you'll be next. So Truss politely plays her part and stands next to Bannon and tells people in the US that there are 'no-go zones' in British cities. Braverman tells them shariah law is coming imminently to the UK . Musk tells Rogan that the peaceful  shires around and imagined bucolic olde England are besieged by hordes of rapist goblins (or something). And it goes on an on -  Jenrick tells people in one part of Birmingham that there are no white faces in another part of Birmingham.

It's always 'somewhere else'. Even Trump's performative 'sending in the national guard' to quell imagined uprisings in American cites - its not a message to the populations in those cities - its a message to the people who have never been there.

So this document may be for American domestic consumption - but it might actually just be part of the whole reciprocal alarmist bullshit economy - giving the various right wing groups across Europe their little talking points.

Lets see how quickly Farage and Robinson  obediently parrot it back.

It's not just tourists. I know of several euro manufacturers who used to take a dozen cars, 50+ engineers and 10s of millions of dollars to the US to do a couple of months worth of testing across all systems.

They don't any more. It's now a couple of cars and and absolute minimum number of engineers (usually white and passing American).

It's considered safer to go to South Africa, cheaper to go to Australia and less paperwork to go to China.

I'd really not be overly bothered if I got a refusal.

I think the experience of being refused is pretty bothersome and imagine in most cases pretty expensive. The experience of those it happens to include hours of handcuffed interrogation at the airport separated from the people you are travelling with, being chucked into caged vans and taken away for isolated detention and then being brought back to the airport an bundled on a plane home. These are detentions  triggered  by scraping the social media of people on the passenger list of incoming planes and therefore decisions made after those passengers have committed to travel and committed to whatever it was they were going to do when they arrived, whether thats work or leisure, not being able to complete that journey is alway going to come at a considerable cost.

Those refusals of entry have been based on pretty tenuous and tangential assessments of people's social media activity - posting a joke about Marylin Munro in one instance - or posts made by people they link you to rather than any of your own activity. So you've no real way of knowing how you'd be assessed because there's no real reasoning behind it. Decisions are made on your 'perceived intent' - so basically the inferences they take from you social media use, not what you actually post. They have also made refusals based on 'inconsistencies' which can mean anything they like.

So how on earth do they work out who I am based on my forum username?

they don't need a warrant to seize and access your phone or other devices. It would be clear from doing that what your logins to various accounts are

And refusal to hand over and/or unlock those devices is seen as a bad thing(tm) and might get you arrested as your legal rights are less than those of a US citizen.

Travelling with a work device that contains information classed as sensitive under GDPR? yeah, that can go so you may need to report that to your dataskydd rep. Same with encryption/encrypted devices.

I would. In fact, my advice to poeple going to either of those two places is a) don't and b) if you have to, take a burner.

With China the advice is to take a burner that has no personal accounts on it (if you can) and bin it before you get back, especially if you have had to download local apps for taxi, bus, train osv. With the US you can get away with just taking a blanked/wiped device.

That's been a thing for years. Had a colleague hit by it when i was still in the UK some 20+ years ago. He ended up refusing and being put on a plane back home about 6 hours later.

I do wonder if they would actually do that if you made the stopping member of DHS sign a bunch of receipts for the devices, the informaiton that was on them, that sort of things. Be compliant, but "terribly sorry old chap, but company policy forces me to...". Having a documentaiton trail for this might make them think twice.

Although the people the job attracts might just taser you and bundle you on a plane back just to be petty.

I'm just glad I'm retired and not having to travel to the USA 5 or 6 times a year for work. It would be a nightmare. A shame as well, as I used to really enjoy being in the US but I wouldn't dream of going there with the current regime.

I feel particularly aggrieved recently. I’ve always enjoyed staying up to date with current events. But I’ve had to stop reading the news because updates on “what has Donald done today” really get me down. It’s utterly demoralising that people voted for this. And continue to vote for him. Some of my friends think he’s great. Im still trying to process that. I don’t understand that anyone with a brain cannot realise what long-lasting harm Donald is doing to the USA. I just don’t get it.

In my line of work.. To visit the USA now, I'd have to rent or buy a 'burner' phone and laptop on arrival and not bring my own with me.

Seriously mad shit going on in the USA, from an IT security point of view...

I've heard stories about phones being taken and demands for passwords for social media accounts etc..

They have really gone insane.

“what has Donald done today”

It's kinda obvious what Trump is up to.

Flood the media with whatever to keep people busy whilst the real work takes place.
He's a Russian asset, like farrage is in the UK.

The really frightening thing is the voting and uneducated people are lapping it up, and that's a large proportion of the electorate.

Excellent takedown of the orange shitgibbon by Jack White (yes…THAT jack white)

I never knew Jack White but now I do.

The White House melts down and attacks music legend Jack White after he insults Donald Trump's "disgusting" and "vulgar" redecoration of the White House

“Jack White is a washed-up, has-been loser posting drivel on social media because he clearly has ample time on his hands due to his stalled career,” claimed White House spokesman Steven Cheung.

“It’s apparent [White]’s been masquerading as a real artist, because he fails to appreciate, and quite frankly disrespects, the splendor and significance of the Oval Office inside of ‘The People’s House,'” Cheung added.

this is Jack’s response…

"Listen, I’m an artist and not a politician so I’m in no need to give my answer or opinion on anything if I’m not inspired or compelled, but how funny that it wasn’t me calling out trump’s blatant fascist manipulation of government, his gestapo ICE tactics, his racist remarks about Latinos, Native Americans, etc. his ridiculous 'wall' construction, his attacks on the disabled, his attempted coup and mob insurrection and destruction of the sacred halls of congress, his disparaging sexist and pedophilic remarks about women, his obvious attempts at distraction about being a close personal friend of Jeffrey Epstein and his inclusion in the Epstein files, his ignorance of the dying children in Sudan, Gaza, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, his lack of empathy for military veterans and those struggling with poverty, his attempts to dismantle healthcare, his obvious wimpy and pathetic kowtowing to the dictators Putin and Kim Jong Un, his nazi like rallies, his attempts to sell merchandise and products like Goya beans through the office of the President, his fake 'gunshot to the ear' that he showed no medical records or photographs of, his constant, constant, constant lying to the American people, etc. etc. etc."

"No, it wasn’t me calling out any of that, it was the f*cking DECOR OF THE OVAL OFFICE remarks I made that got them to respond with insults," he continued. "How petty and pathetic and thin skinned could this administration get?

'Masquerading as a real artist'? Thank you for giving me my tombstone engraving! Well here’s my opinion, trump is masquerading as a human being." "He’s masquerading as a christian, as a leader, as a person with actual empathy," he wrote.
"He’s been masquerading as a businessman for decades as nothing he’s involved in has prospered except by using other people’s money to find loophole after loophole and grift after grift."

"His staff of professional liar toadies like Steven Cheung and Karoline Leavitt have been covering up and masking his fascism as patriotism and fomenting hatred and division in this country on a daily basis," White went on.

"And I have 'ample time on (my) hands'? That orange grifter has spent more tax payer money cheating at golf than helping ANYONE in the country. Improve. Anything. There is no progress with him, only smoke and mirrors and tax breaks for the ultra wealthy."

"So maga folk, enjoy your concrete paving over of the rose garden, your 200 million dollar ballroom in the White House, and your gaudy ass gold spray painted trinkets from Home Depot, cause he ain’t spending any money on helping YOU unless you fit into his white supremacist country club rich idiot agenda," "Wow, he hates who you hate....good for you, be proud of yourselves, how christian of you all,"

"The only way you can support this conman is because you are a victim of the 2 party system and you 'defend your guy no matter what he does.'" he wrote. "No intelligent person can defend this low life fascist. This bankruptor of casinos. This failed seller of trump steaks, trump vodka, trump water, etc." "This man and his goon squad have failed upwards for decades and have fleeced the American people over and over," wrote White.

"This professional golf cheat, this grifter who has hundreds of thousands of deaths from his inaction of the pandemic on his hands, this man that the majority of the country somehow were fooled into supporting and voting into office (through the flawed electoral college) and their love of reality television stars."
"Being insulted by the actual White House that this particular conman leads is a badge of honor to me, because anyone who trump supports and likes is a villain who gives nothing to their fellow man, only takes what can benefit themselves,"

"And no I’m not a Democrat either, I’m a human being raised in Detroit, I’m an artist who’s owned his own businesses like his own upholstery shop and recording label since he was 21 years old who has enough street sense to know when a 3 card monte dealer is a cheap grifter and a thief,"

"I was raised to believe that we defeated fascism in World War II and that we would never allow it again in the world. I don't always state publicly my political opinions, and like anyone I don't always know all of the facts, but when it comes to this man and this administration I'm not going to be like one of the silent minority of 1930's Germany. This man is a danger to not just America but the entire world and that's not an exaggeration, he's dismantling democracy and endangering the planet on a daily basis, and we. all. know. it.

I'm just shocked no ones called his bluff yet...

I know diplomatic relationships, etc, but if the USA has really gone to Russia, then the USA can't be treated on trust any more.

In terms of international relationships, we know the USA are a bunch of liars, as we have to take what their 'leader' says as the official opininon of the whole county, at an intenational level.

The guy is a fraud and a rapist, FFS

China has and won on several occasions. This was helped because they started planning and acting on it from the first Trump presidency since even if he wasnt elected an equally moronic leader might be.

Thats a medium/long term thing though. If you look at the EU then whilst there is plenty of arsekissing there is a clear strategy of moving away from the previous relationship which was mutually beneficial to one which is strictly transactional. The problem is it takes time to change tack and it will give some benefits to one side to delude them into thinking its a profit. Its the problem of getting a failed business person who was desperate enough to do a reality tv business show to run a country. Private sector short term thinking doesnt work well.

nah...

I've just been subjected to a bit tump on the radio about hitting drug boats from south america, if he really gave a toss, (LOL) then he would be going after the health insurance companies for over prescribing really strong opiates with the kind of wanton abandon that doctors in the UK over prescribe anti-biotics.

Trump is upholding a heathcare crisis in the USA, and his voters are stupid enough to nod along with it, because they want their little heroin pills... because if its a tablet, from a 'doctor' it's good heroin, not bad heroin.

The net result is still a load of smack heads.

He's boasting that they've seized a Venezuelan tanker. "The biggest ever seized"

Way to start hostilities ya fat ****.

Not sure what the legal position is on this - seems the tanker was falsely registered in Guyana, was reporting false positions and was being watched for a couple of years as it was sanctions busting oil. Obviously Trump is doing it for show* but not necessarily another war crime.

*to deflect international attention away from his latest threats to the International Criminal Court maybe

does this mean America will start seizing Trump's mate Putin's sanction busting tankers?

Probably not, but this ( https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cj4q1lddj8go) could mean that they could buy themselves a visa.

He's obviously seen that Malta and Cyprus (those paragons of clean money and totally legit Russian business) made a lot of money from such visa programs and wants a slice of that for himself.

Was thinking exactly the same thing myself. Sadly if anything it's doing Putin a favour.

Back to the social media thing - if they are checking via passenger lists how do they know they have the correct John Smith? Or is that discovered when they check the phone in immigration?

My crackpot theory is that Palantir are already doing all of that, and the recent spate of people getting denied acceess for memes etc were a test of that system. Asking for the details upfront makes it offical that they are doing this (but not how).

Health insurance companies don't issue prescriptions - and would prefer if doctors prescribed their customers no treatment at all 🙂

But, as I understand it, the drug makers have been found liable for deliberately concealing the addictive nature of some of the drugs they produced and sold, and giving incentives to doctors to prescribe them.

Office of Public Affairs | Ten Pharmaceutical Distributor Executives, Sales Representatives, and Brokers Charged in Connection with Unlawful Sales of Nearly 70M Opioid Pills | United States Department of Justice

So yes, domestic organisations fuelling the drug crisis in the US.

They don't have to 'know' anything - 'perceived intent' and 'inconsistencies' - thats it. If they mix you up with someone else their perception is that you are that other person. Who you are is inconsistent with who they think you are.

I'm not convinced it's particularly crackpot to be honest...

I think Perdue issuing memos titled "$$$$$$$$$$$$$ It's Bonus Time in the Neighborhood!" to their sales reps - offering reps bonus if they persuaded doctors to give patients larger doses can't have helped their defence 🙂

I suspect very soon the discussion will be moving on from 'can Europe win against Russia without backing from the US' to 'can Europe win against a Russia backed by the US'

I think we all know the answer to that.....and anyone thinking this crowd will relinquish power in a fair election going forward, well that's for the birds. Simply will not happen.
