Is this the longest time Trump has gone without a sacking / resignation?

Or are they just as frequent but no longer newsworthy?

Or is there just nobody left?

I'm guessing sharks with frickin laser beams was too much to hope for

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/463928-trump-suggested-shooting-migrants-in-the-legs-nyt?amp#click=https://t.co/BU0FvxuaWo

The aides told the Times Trump suggested to advisors during the Oval Office meeting that they should shoot migrants in the legs to slow them down.

The suggestion came after Trump had publicly suggested shooting migrants if they threw rocks, the Times reports. Trump had made the suggestion about shooting migrants that threw rocks during a speech in November.

Officials who spoke to the Times also recall Trump often suggesting fortifying a border wall with a water-filled trench, stocked with snakes or alligators.

Trump also "wanted the wall electrified, with spikes on top that could pierce human flesh," the Times reports.

When advisors told Trump some of his suggestions were not allowed, he reportedly became frustrated.

Just been reading that NY Times piece. It paints a picture of the Trump administration almost exactly as you always feared it might be:

May be wishful thinking but a Republican senator has criticised Trump for his comments about the whistleblower, first signs of dissent in the GOP???

Nah, there’s plenty of folk in the GOP that don’t like him, they just like being in power more.

Interesting thou Rudy J and the Ukrainians and the US State department.

All depends on how much traction this gains, if more stuff comes spewing out I think Trump's
going to be in a world of pain and Fox is starting to distance themselves from him as this is really bad.

Quite a lot of lashing out, angry words, and accusations from the orange one over the last 24hrs, he's clearly very rattled.

I feel sorry for the Finnish PM. He had to put up with a lot of ranting when they were doing a joint conference. It's a good job that they are, as a nation, so polite and reserved.

Christ, Agent Orange just can’t stop himself:

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/03/us/politics/trump-ukraine.html

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-publicly-calls-on-china-to-investigate-bidens/2019/10/03/2ae94f6a-e5f2-11e9-b403-f738899982d2_story.html

If this doesn’t tip things over for an impeachment, it’s difficult to see what could.

There has to be a tipping point beyond which Trump will lose the support of a few GOP Senators, become even more unhinged over it, and the penny will finally drop with the GOP establishment that he's on the way out, at which point his support will melt away.

I think the public call for China to investigate is ploy to say nothing is hidden and he is being upfront and 'honest'...
Smoke and mirrors.

When the polls start showing that his support has dropped , when it reaches 30% the Two senator s will start abandoning him, it needs 20 to flip to impeach him

That said his base are resilient, trump revels in it, the more he rolls himself in shit the less he seems to care

Impeachment requires a simple majority in Congress, which the Democrats already have. After that, there has to be a two-thirds majority in the Senate to remove him, which is where GOP flippers come into play.

He's past the point of no return now. Demonstrably mentally unstable. Terrifying to think he could launch nuclear weapons

25th Amendment time...unbelievable

'my great and unmatched wisdom'...totally unhinged.

Couldn't he just chuck Pompeo, or someone else under the bus as a distraction, rather than the Kurdish people?

I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!)

Who's economy is he imagining he has 'totally obliterated' previously?

Certainly many contractors he employed to build things, before bankrupting himself to avoid paying them.

He’s gone full on Oz.

I was re-reading William Burrough's essay 'Sects and Death' recently about the mechanisms for creating a cult

"If you want to start a cult, the first step is to get your voice into the non-dominant brain hemisphere of your soon-to-be devoted followers. The Scientology course involves listening to hours of L.Ron Hubbard's voice on tape. The voice of Dederich, founder of Synanon, was said to drift from the air conditioning system, and Reverend Jim Jones had tapes of his voice continually broadcast over loudspeakers at Jonestown."

It sort of seems that Trump's twitter feed is the same

It's proper butterfly net time. Sadly if he appeared on TV with his undies on his head his supporters would probably still vote for him. Scary days.

He's either just having a laugh, seeing how much ridiculous language he can get away with (knowing he can pretty much get away with anything), or he really is deranged. It's like he's trying to sound like a crack-pot dictator

His impeachment gets closer. The distraction gets louder. He could actually be smarter than we think. But he's not though, but he's still in power.

so now he's just refusing to co-operate, not sure that's going to end well, and certainly not a good look.

Not, Syria, but they are targeting Kurds in Syria, who have been our allies for the last 10 years+.
There is FA the rest of the world can do about it, apart from moan, as Trump gave them the go-ahead.
He is a terrible leader, who , given a chance , would gladly start WW3.
Luckily, I think most of the rest of the World are not up for it, so will keep their mouths shut until Trump has gone.

I'm not sure even he is that mental, I'll give him the benefit of that doubt, but he's sure stupid enough to do it by accident.

the trouble with the US (regarding warfare) is the sheer size of their armed forces, Trump has increased spending by as much as the total Russian defense budget. There comes a point when you have to justify that spending which usually means going to war with somebody.

He also had a really wise thing to say about the US diplomat's wife accused of knocking a lad off his motorbike: "She was on the wrong side of the road.. that can happen. We have our system they have their system.." Unbelievable.
