As you might expect, it just paints a picture of incompetence, disarray and confusion from a White House full of people more concerned about themselves than anyone, or anything else......

Just wait until you hear about what he did with a pigs head while he was at college...

That kinda says it all, really.

Has Bannon “lost his mind”?

He does seem pretty bitter about things doesn’t he? I think he viewed himself as a kingmaker from the start, and still doesn’t understand why he got kicked out.

From Trumps point of view/position, casting Bannon aside (given his actions) was inevitable, a break between “how to get elected” and “how to rule” requiring entirely different peo0le/skill sets around him. It may appear ruthless, but that’s politics.

On the book, as I posted above, much of it appears to be in the realm of salacious gossip and unconfirmed rumour. You have to wonder how come those who shout and scream most about Trump making “unproven allegations” eg. electoral fraud, are so keen to unquestioningly accept unproven and increasingly ridiculous allegations against Trump (how many accepted the Gorilla channel story last night on face value) hence my comment about pigs heads earlier - it may all make angry left-leaning never Trumpers cheer for five minutes, but makes no difference in the real world, where jobs and a positive economic outlook are what matter.

One of the biggest ironies is that the opposition will essentially swallow any story as long as it’s negative about Trump, so we are now in the ridiculous situation where we are supposed to believe that Trump never actually wanted to win but he colluded with Russia in order to win (why bother if you don’t want to win?) on top of which they tell us he’s insanely Machiavellian, but didn’t want or expect to win, which is about the least Machiavellian thing that anyone running for president could believe.

It just doesn’t add up, it’s completely contradictory.

We’ve been hearing that it’s all about to collapse around Trumps ears for two years now, yet still every time he’s written off, he comes back. Look at the polls they’ll say... but then if the polls were right, Hillary was going to storm home with the strongest, most stable leadership this side of what Theresa May was expected to win with.

Well I am sure he will go to court over it and win. As opposed to just using his normal legal threats and then duck away if someone picks up the glove.

where jobs and a positive economic outlook are what matter.

Dont forget no fatal commercial aircraft crashes which muppet boy is also claiming credit for.

It just doesn’t add up, it’s completely contradictory.

It really isnt.

I'll concede we were wrong about this. It's between them instead.

If you take a helicopter view, American politics is even more absurd than UK politics, although we are close to taking the primary position of the most mentally messed up developed country.

I'm no expert on USA politics, but it seems thier system is certainly robust when it comes to having a renegade government like the trump family. Despite all the loss of global reputation, he's not really been able to do much real damage... Yet.

Do keep us posted on the positives.

Donald’s Diet Coke consumption will pump a whole new life into the Aspartame safety argument

Plus the Gorilla Channel will be getting carried on Fox TV network for us to all enjoy.

Yes, it seems so. A sentiment echoed in maxtorque's link where it talks about self-serving career political staff turning into patriots since the pressing need to stop Trump actually doing anything arose.

I'm guessing Trump will buy the kindle edition. Or have a minion read it and make the main bullet points for him to get angry about. 😀

My only worry?

I wouldn't put it past Trump to start a war to defect attention at some point.

I think he really is that messed up and dangerous.

Your getting the key point the wrong way around, Russia wanted him to win. He just liked the juicy gossip they gave him.

If you're near a broadcast...

The excellent Nick Robinson interviews Michael Wolff on BBC R4 at 08:10 this morning.

on top of which they tell us he’s insanely Machiavellian,

Nah none of his detractors reckon he's that smart at all.

It's just you ninfan that seems to think he's anything other than just a very rich bully.

And some of us are prepared for the long game before his inevitable fall.

There are a lot of those conflicted right wingers on Twitter certain that the bannon/trump fall out is all staged, just to troll the fake media! I feel sorry for them the most, they think their man of the people really will fix their problems.

This!
Whether Wolff is right and trump never thought he'd really do it, Russia didn't think he'd win either, they had already started the 2nd phase of their social media campaign saying the vote was fraudulent, but had to nix it as they scrambled to find out what potus trump really meant for them.
http://www.newsweek.com/when-donald-trump-got-elected-here-what-russian-trolls-were-doing-704921

R4 had a security analyst on a few weeks ago saying that Russians were actual a bit panicked when Trump won, and rapidly sit down the voter fraud claiming bots.

You’re back to that pesky proof thing again. Of course you can find evidence of Russia “meddling” it’s what they do (and have done for decades) just the same as the USA meddles in their and many other elections (covertley and sometimes even overtly - see Obama and Brexit)

The allegation made against Trump is collusion, so far - and despite huge effort - nothing at all that remotely resembles proof (and remember how much you all demand evidence and proof when Trump alleges anything)

Aaand yet Papadopoulos & Flynn already pled guilty to lying to FBI about their Russia connections, mandafort & gates charged with worse.
Even bannon reckons trump jrs Russia meeting was treason.

Meuller proceeding along nicely, you'll just have to wait for the last act patiently like the rest of us ninfan

No evidence of collusion?

Are we still believing the story that the meeting at trump towers was about orphans?

Both that meeting and the papadopoplus conviction are remarkably interesting actually - they both suggest that Russia was trying to make contact with Trump, but kept getting nowhere

Ninfan - any news on the progress of the Trump deflection tactic (sorry - allegation) that the Democrats gained 3 million fraudulent votes?

Obama didn't meddle in Brexit - he said that in his opinion Britain's and the USA's best interests lay in Britain remaining within the EU.

The Russians don't have to have actually talked with Trump - turn enough of his inner circle and you'd get the same result. It wouldn't surprise me if Bannon is considering plea bargaining with Mueller - nothing like a lover scorned!

yep it only works if nobody talks, first one to talk gets the best deal then it's various degrees of worse for the rest...

Michael Wolff is a total loser who made up stories in order to sell this really boring and untruthful book. He used Sloppy Steve Bannon, who cried when he got fired and begged for his job. Now Sloppy Steve has been dumped like a dog by almost everyone. Too bad!

How anyone can look at this and think Trump has any place being president baffles me.

bbc breakfast said he was due for a medical soon, by the same doctor who examined Obama. Would that Include any kind of cognitive ability test, or is just a stethoscope on the chest and a couple of whacks with a rubber mallet ?

Apparently at Trump’s latest Whitehouse press conference he addressed the press via a video link, despite only being a couple of rooms away!

All very..

Handy way to avoid awkward questions though eh?

It's an increasingly sad human spectacle really. A 71-year-old desperately trying to prove that he is not in a pre-dementia state in full view of the world's media.

Of course, it's as it should be. He holds the most powerful political office in the world.

Well, the whole pig’s head tactic started in America as a way of discrediting a political opponent, so it’s a well established technique.

In my experience it's very rare for a genuine genius to advertise the fact. That experience includes someone on the core Linux kernel development team and a university lecturer in electronics who gets called in by the US AIB because "he's the expert".

It's also usually the case that it's those around someone who refer to them as smart or as a genius rather than the individual.

Trump's trumps remind me of the quote (often attributed to Abraham Lincoln): "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

I'd be amazed if he could make eye contact, never mind proclaim himself a genius.
