I'm not complain because he was elected, he'll do what he does, tbh doesn't particularly affect me anyhow, my only real concern is how much influence he will have on UK/European politics(the later looks like zero(guess could be more, depends how europe develops down this path), the former is more concerning considering our own bams.).
But by platform, I mean give him attention. Someone mentioned earlier having his press conferences/ briefings completely empty. Seems like a fine idea to me, purely report on his actions, not the words of this presidency. (While hopefully others get their arse in gear for when this charade is ready to run it's course. I'm doubtful about that though, most likely it'll just be some other faction of corporate arseholes.)
THM Is a one nation tory and he does care about the poor/needy/unfortunate
Where we differ on is whether capitalism can cure poverty or whether it requires state intervention. He is just as uncomfortable with suffering as I am but less bothered by unequal distribution of wealth.
I'm sure I don't need to point out that I'm somewhere between the two of you - I can see merit in both of your POVs (and I don't see unequal distribution of wealth as a bad thing per se - I'd argue the important point is the level of wealth and standard of living of the poorest and if that is improved 10% whilst the bloke at the top doubles his money then that's actually a better situation).
You may have noticed that those photos of pollution is actually already taking place, in the counties where Trump wants to bring American factories back from. Not doing that is endorsing that pollution continuing, just because it's in another country.
Good point well made. Trump wants to bring all that back to the US, and removing environmental regulation is one part of doing that. Welcome to the race to the bottom.
You appear to make the assumption that those four million women are rational, sensible people
You're right, probably a good portion of them have blood coming from their wherever.
Someone mentioned earlier having his press conferences/ briefings completely empty.
Indeed. He is nothing but a troll. A lot like his "supporters" on here.
and in reality ninfan are you a trump die hard or a pathetic troll?
Are you new around here?
I think starting next week, as an experiment, I will act like trump at work and see what happens.
Could be interesting, will I get a fat pay rise for making the company great again or get my p45 for being an arsehole.
So trumps approval rating after a month is the lowest ever, he must be doing something right. 11 points below Clinton who previously held the record.
I think starting next week, as an experiment, I will act like trump at work and see what happens.
You say that as a joke. I had the misfortune to live in the US through the Reagan years, and I definitely observed an increased acceptability of just telling lies among my colleagues and others. Heaven knows what the Trump effect will be.
So we know that 'going straight to the people' or cutting the media is rule#1 in the facist dictator handbook and we know that Trump and his communicstion team are liars and we know that Miller and Gork are unhinged psychopaths but theres still some people who think we may not have a problem here?
#delusional

As long as you are CEO of the company then you can give it a go. Being a narcissistic dictator only really works if you own or run the company. Watch the employment laws as not as easy to sack someone in the UK though.
Thirty years in corporations, I can tell you lying is common place and quite often the best strategy.
BTW, you still haven't answered my question.
the finely tuned machine might have slipped another cog
BTW, You still haven't answered mine, you simply dumbly repeated fake news.
Has teacher not called the children in yet?
And for god's sake will someone answer ninfan's question. He asked it first and his dad is probably bigger than yours too. And your mum smells.
I know his pants are on fire, but...
If i ever meet you Ninfan, i hope you've got good medical insurance.
Why?
And why give him what he wants?
Only if you let him.

I disagree there Tom.
A tool is useful.
thinks that it is acceptable to assume that all women that you grope who don't fight back are up for a good bit of pretend rape.
More #FakeNews - you're stuck in the extrapolation cycle again.
Well that's one explanation. However, i'd suggest that most people reading what he wrote considered it to be very different.
Generally in popular culture saying "your mum" is a crash way to basically insulate that they have had sexual relations with your mother.
Well done, you've accepted you were wrong. Go on then, apologise.
No trump just eyes them up as kids and waits until they are 10 years older and never say no.....
I can see why Ninfan admires someone so classy
And I'd suggest you need to wind your neck in, take a chill pill and bone up on your English language comprehension before assuming other folk can't read the written word either. However, i'd suggest that most people reading what he wrote considered it to be very different.
Edit: I can't believe I'm defending ninfan.
😥
Scot, I'm not sure why you are defending Ninfan, but of course you have every right to do that. But in all seriousness, can you see why his reply, which had no explanation and the intonation of which is impossible to get from the typed word, could easily be considered abusive and inflammatory?
Read the replys from other forum members immediately after his post. It's clear a lot of people considered it to be just that.
Absolutely not. I simply took it to mean that you're acting like a child - hence him suggesting you need to ask a grown up. As for what other folk are posting I can only suggest it's a Saturday night and some have been on the booze since lunchtime.Scot, I'm not sure why you are defending Ninfan, but of course you have every right to do that. Ok, that is indeed one possible explanation. As i believe in democratic representation, shall we have a vote on it?
I took it as used in the parlance of our times, as maxtorque did.
4 hours and no one's posted?! What's happened?
So as we're all allowed back in why don't we kick off with trumps rather strange and ego-stroking media rally he's currently holding in "The Southern White House", his description not mine btw.
It's all quite surreal as he continues to ramp up his tirade against the fake news press reporting , does he really believe that if he repeats the phrase enough times that his followers/acolytes will believe him?. Surely this is beginning to do irrevocable damage to the Republican Party?, much as I dislike and disagree with many of their policies their continuing support of leader/spokesman/orange tinted bawbag is akin to playing pass the parcel with a grenade minus the pin, it's going to go off at some point and those who align themselves with him are going to get shredded.
Or am I just a wounded snowflake leftie who should man-up and act like a dick every now and then?

Only if you let him.
This post did make sense at the time. Honest.
At least before the thread was censored by the mainstream media...
(If I used smileys, there might be some here now).
Junkyard  » I'd argue the important point is the level of wealth and standard of living of the poorest and if that is improved 10% whilst the bloke at the top doubles his money then that's actually a better situation).
of course but them doubling their money and him having 10% is even better
Where i differ form a traditionalist communist * is i dont really care who own what I care that it is fairly and evenly distributed - certainly vastly more so than now
Personally I find it disgusting that we have people worth billions when we have folk unable to get clean water and them and their children dying of preventable causes such as malnutrition. The things can be ended easily but, and how many more centuries would you like to run the experiment?- not under the current model.
I accept you both have a social conscious and a RW economic ethics hence...natural Blairites the pair of you[ or as i call it right wing] 😉
* I am not one though I can see why fok think it. I like society and think together we can achieve more by collective action and regulating the impulses of the avaricious and making them share as they sure as hell wont give it up despite the odd notable philanthropist **
** I dont mean BONO.
Alpha1653 - Member4 hours and no one's posted?! What's happened?
The thread was put in the naughty corner and a load of posts removed.
Ahhh....it all suddenly makes sense. I tried reading the posts which are left to see what happened but it makes even less sense than usual, probably because a load have gone AWOL!
And still it makes more sense than a Trump press conference.
Anyway today we have his biggly uuuuge rally to deal with. It's as if he is actually trying to push the dictator image out there.
And as if to push that further if you have ever said anything bad about Trump your not getting a job. Kind of narrows down the applications

So with ninfan off on his hollibobs, and chekwk fulfilling the fun drunk role, who is going to fight the good fight?
Risk of becoming an echo chamber with no consenting voices.
so like the Corbyn thread but for the lefties 😉
Getting back to alternative facts, Trump at his rally yesterday claimed something Muslim/terrorism happened in Sweden yesterday, it didn't, nothing untoward happened. A complete lie.
aracer » Junkyard » I'd argue the important point is the level of wealth and standard of living of the poorest and if that is improved 10% whilst the bloke at the top doubles his money then that's actually a better situation).
Didn't The Spirit Level say exactly the opposite?
Glad to see this thread is back.
Stay cool, argue till you puke.
It can take a lot of work cleaning up a big thread when a few turn it bad, we also have to work out who the culprits are. So it was closed while we did just that as we have better things to do on as Saturday night.
Right back to work on Trump folks.
That may be the case, Drac. But without being able to read your minds most assumed it had just been shutdown for good.
Bit like the EPA will be soon.
