Last year I tried to do the off road coast to coast (Fort William to Montrose ~ 250 miles) route out of Phil McKane's Scotland Mountain Biking - The Wild Trails book. I gave up half way through cos I got a bit wet.
Going to re-do it this year and try and a) do something good out of it and b) make sure I don't give up, so have decided to try and raise money for my friend Victoria.
She's had diabetes for ages and it, along with other associated conditions like osteoporosis really affect her life. She's wanted a piece of medical technology called a continous glucose montor for ages, but it's not available on the NHS although it would help her a lot. She's not able to work so can't save up for it.
There's more info about it in her own words on the donation page I set up: https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/victoria
If you want to share it around or bung in some cash it would be much appreciated. If not, that's cool too.
Had a few donations roll in this afternoon. If they're from you guys - thanks a lot.
No backing out for me now!
OK, giving this a weekend bump before I let it slip in to the deep.
Got over £600 now, Victoria is well chuffed.
Tomorrow is the big day. On the 6AM train out of Edinburgh.
Did a test pack of the bike last week. It'll be fine... I'm sure!
Donations have been great though - over £1000 now!
Decided to extend it until next weekend so people can donate after it's finished.
Looks like rain 🙁
Makes my coast to coast road ride look like a peice of piss.
Good luck
