Sorry if this belongs in the dogs thread - mods, please move if so!

Does anyone have a recommendation for a water bottle that fits in a bike bottle cage, that has a fold-out cup thing for a dog to drink from?

I've seen lots of the sculpted-looking bottles but they don't look like a good shape to stay in a bottle cage. I regularly take a little folding bowl with me if I'm taking my Camelbak, but for short rides with my dog it would be good to have something simpler.

Not sure about the folding out thing still fitting in the cage, but I just carry a small collapsible bowl for our Harold and a regular water bottle.ย

Either that, or I give him a squirt straight into his mouth from my Camelback podium! He loves it 🤔😂

Sometimes I make him carry his own in panniers.ย

If you carry one of those bottles that can take back the water that they don't drink, then you've to be happy sharing dog slobber water, unless you've got another bottle of course.

We've also got one a bit like this with a built in bowl but it is too small for a bottle cage. Not seen one that would fit as yet.ย

There's a couple of bottles on Amazon that have a folding silicone 'bowl' attached to a bottles neck, I wonder if you could mod one to fit onto a regular bottle?ย

So, we have one of these:Pupflask

I just took the silicone bowl off and wrangled it onto a camelback podium bottle.ย

Might suit your needs.ย

I have a pupflask as well, they come in 2 sizes and have been really good with our fussy hound. rm is a genius shipping the leaf onto the camelbak, the bottles are usually metal and curved so would likely be useless in a bottle cage unless it was customised/adjustable.

Also with my dog you can't spray water at her, it's scary!ย

Ah, brilliant, thanks all! He's part border collie, so seems to generally exist on a level of comfortable dehyration, but I know when he stops running quite as far ahead of the bikes that he's getting a bit thirsty. He doesn't seem to like water being sprayed / dribbled at him (but will happily stop and drink from muddy filthy puddles if he can find them).

@kayak23, panniers! Love that. The bottle you linked to is the one I've seen loads of but, like you say, it doesn't look like it will stay in a bottle cage.

@relapsed_mandalorion, that's a great shout, thank you, I'll give that a try. ๐Ÿ™‚

We gave up carrying water for the pooch, he just wouldn't drink until he wanted. Wed cross umpteen burns. He'd not be interested. Wed offer our water, not interested. Then eventually he'd spy a filthy ditch and drink his fill.ย

Helps living in the Highlands though. Always something drinkable. Just.

Lola just touch the bottle with her nose and looks at you
