My folks are going on a bit of a road-trip to the Orkneys over the summer, and need to travel from the Lake District to Thurso to catch a ferry.
Looking at the map it would appear Glasgow and Inverness would be good stop-off points (they are not in a rush)
They are travelling with some friends who have a dog - so need to find reasonably priced/dog friendly accommodation in/around Glasgow + in/around Inverness in Late June.
Any suggestions from the Ginger-bearded skirt-wearing contingent would be most welcome 😆

Travelodges take dogs for an extra £20 per visit. Can be booked at same time as booking on website.
