We're pretty much a household of chromecast... with 2 plugged into stereos and one into the TV... but....
I'd like to find a portable speaker that will work with wifi/chromecast. My searches are drawing a blank, so i figured you guys have probably already been down that road!
LG do one I think. The Flow series and a couple of their soundbars
Sadly not yet, according to the LG site, its "coming".
Not what you are looking for but I use a chromecast and and amazon dongle on home.
For portable tunes, I use bluetooth and 2 of these http://www.whathifi.com/ultimate-ears/boom-2/review (waterproof/has an app/long runs times/whats not to like)
I had a look and there were some but all eye wateringly expensive given that the CC itself is £30 or less. I expect this'll change but in the meantime I'm going for separates (in the modern sense). One such offering was just a speaker with a slot to insert an standard CC dongle.

Indeed, its wierd isnt it. What Im really after is something like an anker soundcore, but with chromecast rather than bluetooth.
The LG stuff is approaching the pricepoint of sonos...
Funnily enough I got a link to this earlier today

The link is for USA but may be available over here.
How 'portable do you want it to be? The chromecast's power and wifi requirements may make it's portability rather limited.
make one? Buy some speakers you like, fit the chromecast to the back or in the casing and hook up a 5v DC-DC regulator to the speaker power supply.
What's wrong with BT speakers? Or get a wifi DNLA dongle and do the same for better SQ.
Its literally for dragging around the house/garage. I've got wifi all over...
That link crmcc put up has a speaker thats reasonable, but its £200. Looking at the spec you're talking about a small battery pack too!
making one is an option, but I'd rather avoid it 😉
