As per the title really, as I don't, and if you do can you explain it?

Ive used AliExpress a few times and they can be very cheap.   If I find something I want,  it's the cheapest,  and i can wait 3-4 weeks for it to ship from China, I use it.

I've come to realise the various different ways they discount stuff means I am frequently paying less than the advertised price... seller discount   AliExpress vouchers,  coins discount blah blah blah.  Sometimes it's just a pound or so less than i expect,  sometimes the savings seem quite a bit.

I bought a couple of bits a week ago,  totalling about £150 and realised I could buy an AliExpress saver voucher package for £3.61 and instantly save £13 with a voucher.... so I did.

All fine and dandy but it's so unnecessarily complicated,  I know i don't maximise my savings. Does anyone here think they get close?

It does seem bonkers.

Some stuff also seems to appear at a different price in my basket than it did on the shop page.  Sometimes higher, sometimes lower. Especially if you add it from the bookmarks, I suspect there's some demand pricing at work

All the discounts are odd though, if I've got halfway through checking out a £4 Garmin mount, why reduce it? They already know I would have paid £4, why knock another few pence off?

I haven't even worked out how properly to search for stuff there, let alone understand pricing

... and the way each photo on an item's entry is actually a different variant took me a go or two to realise 😳

I believe that's caused by fluctuations in the exchange rate.

To get the actual price I add it to the basket and go to checkout, making sure I apply any vouchers shown. Doesn't mean I have to buy. Doesn't mean I understand the pricing! Mostly things arrive 1-2 weeks.
