I still remember the first time my landlord in Leith spoke to me when I arrived in Scotland (from NW England). I understood about every 3rd word 😆

A thick weegie accent is something else though - not sure the interviewee's accent was that bad though tbh.

I first learnt to understand Aberdonians by initially just listening out for the swear words then kinda making sense of what other words would fit in around them.

the man speaks more sense than the pope. he's clearly a thinker, and has expressed an intelligent ideology in as succinct a way as possible.

Radio4 should sign him up for a regular slot on 'thought for the day'...
