Got an old work computer which Im getting rid of, what is the bit that holds all your info that you should remove first?

I've pulled it apart and found a bit with Barracuda 7200.7 160 Gbytes on, It also says HDD on it elsewhere, is this the hard drive and is that all I need to remove?

IT numpty, 🙁

yes, now drill holes in it (the hdd) or bash it to pieces to be really safe (it is possible to use software to wipe it, but you've seemingly gone past this option by removing it).
Or stick it into your new computer and use it as a backup drive?

or you could keep that bit and mount it as a secondry drive in the new computer!

If you can put it back together, you can download "DBAN" as a boot disc. This will wipe the data to US DoD standards.

Stick it in a caddy and use it as an external drive
