How do people decide whether to repair or replace something like a dishwasher?
Got a Hotpoint and I think the circulation pump is knackered. It fills / empties ok, the water even warms up but nothing sprays around. I can hear a vague electrical hum from it.
I'm not competent enough to service it myself. Getting someone out to look at it will be £100, then there's the cost of the replacement part (which looks, for my model, to be a combined pump + motor at around another £100).
Replacement dishwasher of a similar model is around £230.
