so i had to renew my van insurance this morning, £395 to stay where i am or £394 to switch to eVan, but, stephen fry and paul merton said direct line will be cheaper because they cut out the middle man and give you 2 months free,

(gets the calculator)

so £395 take off say 20% for the middle man, divide by 12, multiply by 10, that gives me £274 right? wrong....£721 😯

You have to watch your voluntary and compulsory excesses. I am with Direct Line and at my renewal went to Go Compare and found cheaper insurance with far higher excesses. Then went back to Direct Line and upped my excesses to match and the prices was cheaper!

Can't see why Direct Line think its good to not be on price comparison sites and, instead, spend loads on TV advertising. Why bother giving all your details to Direct Line to get one quote when you can enter your details once and get loads of quotes on the comparison sites?

I'm with Admiral and have been for years; always found them very competitive.

Yes, Direct line wanted over £2k to insure my factory standard Mk4 Golf GTI. Yes it's a GTI, but has less bhp than quite a few more modern diseasles, and I've 7 years NCB. Go figure...
