Just moved home and getting broadband and TV installed but only have an old analogue aerial.
So do we need a digital aerial installed and if so what's the going price for a single and multiroom setup
Cheers
no such thing as a digital aerial - just an aerial which is the correct band for your chosen nearby transmitter.
a decent local installer should cost ~£100 but they really need to see the job to give you a more accurate quote
£95+ vat for a aerial to 1 point.
£65 per point thereafter. in Leeds
Plug the TV in and see if it works, check signal strength. An old "analogue" aerial will most likely be fine.
About £40 from Argos and dead easy to fit yourself.
thanks for the quick responses guys
I've already tried the existing aerial and it pick sup nowt 🙁
Weird to get nothing at all. Probably a dodgy connection but it could just be a really weak signal on an old aerial.
younggeoff.....if you decide to do it yourself, give me a shout.
I sell all you need.
We got charged 165 inc VAT to wire up an aerial to our old house but in fairness they did need a rather long ladder...
When you "tried the existing aerial", did you retune the set?
£125 in north London two years ago & £95 in Cumbria 5 years ago.
Could have done it myself but Rod Hull and all that....
thanks for all the info guys, all sorted now and cost nothing 🙂
