title says it all really. i could quite easily be up at 8:00 if i went to sleep now. whats the average sleep of a 15 year old? probably a lot more than what i need. There is a difference between want and need though. i wont be up before noon ๐Ÿ˜€

I'm currently wondering if my beer will run out before I actually feel sleepy. Insomnia is a bit annoying at times.

Mind you, at this time of night, it's very peaceful. No cars or noise outside, no-one about. Shame it's raining, or I'd consider going for a nice quiet ride through the City. It's quite magical at this hour.

I used to really struggle sleeping after I quit working nights and would often go for rides and watch the sun come up, it was pretty cool actually, especially on rainy days as the clouds looked awesome as it started to get light

5 year olds are growing and learning and hopefully running round like crazy. lots of sleep is normal.

opposite for me, when I was younger I needed at least 8 hours, but now I'm happy with 6, though I can also take a power nap whenever I care to ๐Ÿ™‚

I think I saw a medical thing on TV a couple of years ago saying that growing teenagers sometimes need 12-14 hours!!! Assuming they are growing fast.

I slept loads as a teenager, mainly down to the amount of weed I smoked.

12 - 14 hours of sleep would mean i would have to go to bed no later than haf 6 in the evening because thats when i have to wake up in the mornings. but i can easily cope with six and a half hours.

As a teenager I needed loads of sleep. When I started work at the age of 17, I used to cycle home and have an hours sleep before tea.

It depends. nowadays teenagers seem to have so much technical stuff in their bedrooms that there is hardly room for the bed.
Ditch the telly, computer, sound system, ds etc and put them in an other room, the bedroom is for sleeping in.

By the way Sambob, that last paragraph wasn't aimed at you.

You get plenty of exercise so maybe you just don't need as much as these slovenly types ๐Ÿ˜€

I was always (and still am) up by 6am, Sundays I would stay in bed till 8.
Hated wasting a day, if I stay in bed past 8, my back would ache something chronic.

My brother took the sleep genes, seems like (and still does) he could hibernate for ages.

I'm dreading getting old, I'll be up at 4 before I know it

Sambob- you're very lucky, I'm like a hedgehog in winter and virtually hibernate.

I really wouldn't worry about it if I were you. It seems you just don't need alot.

I can happily sleep until 10am every day and I'm 40, but I get away with 7 hours OK. But I have episodes of insomnia that are frustrating as ruins my pattern and leaves me wrecked.

in my teens i used to stay up till after midnight playing my snes and be up at 6 for a paper round. now i'm still up at 6 but usually in bed for 9 (even on a weekend!). if i don't get at least 8 hours i pity anybody who has to feel my wrath the following day.

Yeah, for sure. As a teenager If I actually went to sleep I'd only put my head down for 3 or 4 hours. Now I lie in half the day most of the time, sometimes I sleep for 6 hours!!!

I had way more sleep as a teenager than I do now. Ok so I'm only 21 and still get 7-8 hours but I used to "need" about 10. Probably just because I was a lazy sod though ๐Ÿ˜†
