Long shot but both my son and I are on insulin pumps, he is on holiday at Southerness with grandparents and I have managed to pack the wrong infusion sets for him (mine not his). Is there anyone in the area that has a couple of 6mm Minimed Paradigm infusion sets I can scrounge to get him through the week. I will obviously replace by post. I am hoping Dumfries hospital can help but trying all options at the moment. 9mm sets are too long (he is built like a pipecleaner and 6mm can cause problems sometimes). Fingers crossed.

That was going to be my suggestion a Pharmacy or Hospital, least you're sorted.

In June this year, I was on the club summer trip to Innerleithen, when my pump failed. That's a bit of a shocker, I can tell you. 😯
I was a good lad, though, I'd taken my backup with me. 😐

You got insurance on yours Chipster?

I take backup with me, but nice to know I can get a replacement in 24 hours. Mind you setting it up again will take a while!

Set up not that long as long as you take your pump settings with you, keep mine in the box with my back up when I am away just in case. You can print your settings off when you do a download.

That was what I initially tried but the joys of 16 year old kids was I got the call at 11pm last night about it!! The hospital gave me the number last night to call at 9am this morn, my post was a 'cover all bases' kind of thing.

Anyway, things sorted and now I can relax in the office instead of a 300 mile trip up the M6 😀

Hahaha! Kids are ace.

Good decision, the NHS is well use to these sort of things so usually somewhere you can get help.

Cheesy, no it wasn't at the time, but it was a pump fault so Medtronic replaced it. I got the new one insured on the house contents the other week.
Medtronic were great. I called the UK number, at about 6pm on the Friday, the call went straight through to the US of A. The UK office called at about 11 on Saturday morning, just as we'd pulled up at Glentress. They offered to get the pump delivered to me within 6 hours, but I asked them to send it home on the Sunday evening. They did.
Votchy's idea of saving the settings is cock on. Wish I had. 😕
