Not confused by the socialist tag at all. One could argue that the methods are / were the defining principle. Judged by your actions not by your ideals. Both sought to dominate / subjugate their populations. Although you are quite right to point out their politics were worlds apart.

You can argue anything you like as this thread has proved [ not a dig at you]
however the defining part of your political philosophy MUST be what you hope to achieve and they hoped to achieve totally different things by similar methods.
