Is this a screaming bargain, or am I missing a vital fact?

http://www.ukflooringdirect.co.uk/engineered-wood-flooring/mega-deal-engineered-european-oak-brushed-oiled

..and for a normal person on a normal salary, in a normal living room, would I regret fitting decent splashproof laminate for half the price?

It's just one of those things I don't have the energy to google to death.

Again, the thread title promised so much more. I had visions of a diminutive Irish-Bristolian doling out the fist pie to some miscreants.

(He's not around here much, but will see if I can point him your way!)

🙂 I'd read the reviews, but they're full of twits giving 5 stars for the sample!

Having met him I can't see his fist pie even doing damage to a small child. 😆

I expected rampant woodworm pics. Disappointed.

No, it's not a bargain; it's a fair price though.
The boards are only 1.1m long so it will look a bit busy
It's "rustic" grade which means plenty of knots full of filler. Their picture is probably not representative of the actual floor. "Character" grade is similarly full of imperfections.

Look at the Kahrs range at http://www.flooringsupplies.co.uk/?gclid=CISF87eRzM8CFc0y0wodZmwHaQ to get a grip on prices.

It might match with the 5m2 boxed and sealed that I have, which you could have for £100.

£20 per sqm for flooring that definitely won't match with anything other than that particular flooring?

Carpet. Thick, lush luxurious pink shag-pile. The chicks will dig it 😉
