Oh, that's a shame - duffers commentary, imperfect as it may have been, really made the tour for so many of us.

That's sad news, he was a neighbour when I was young. He gave me a pile of cycling tops, caps etc. which started my interest in cycling.

🙁 Sad news, his Tour commentary was terrific and so interesting. More of a travelogue really.

We all know that when commentating on the TdeF he could talk a lot of nonsense about wine regions, Majestic Châteaus and "good places to stay in France" but his knowledge of le Tour was awesome. RIP David.
