WTF?
Have you checked if the Tv is on standby? Have you turned the brightness up?
Not sure it'd help tbh.
Dark is as good as anything I've ever watched. Watch it in German though with English subs, the dubbed version is pants. Got to wait until next year sometime for season 2.
Better still, is Blue Scream of Death.
Brilliant series, really hoping they'll make a season 2...
I thought of it as The thinking man's Stranger Things 😉
I watched it with subs. I had a hard time remembering who everyone was.
And I'm not entirely convinced of its merit tbh. Felt like they didn't treat the sci-fi element very well, instead opting for loads of melodrama. I mean, sure, if a temporal anomaly opens up in your town there'd be some crazy stuff happening, but everyone's full of dirty secrets and is grim faced all the time. It's like Star Trek Voyager meets East Enders only without the laughs.
I'm up to episode 4 and it is good, a bit lacking in humour but there again it is German. However, I defy anyone to know who is who in this series without help from the internets.
A similarly darkly made series was Glitch. Well, it started off dark, but bits of it were absolutely hilarious at the same time 🙂 Genius
I watched it dubbed but enjoyed and waiting for the next season.
Its definately WTF thou I wouldn’t want to have explain the plot but I did enjoy the ride as it were.

I really enjoyed the second half where we started guessing that so and so was an older version of X etc. Really nice how it was very circular with every young character interacting with their older self, setting them up to repeat the same actions thus perpetuating the situation for ever...
Will be interesting to see what a second series brings as the first was fairly complete in terms of creating a 'closed' timeline.
I just couldn’t get in to it. Didn’t find any of the characters that interesting. I think I watched about four episodes, does it improve as it goes along?

I thought it was awful. The acting was terrible.

Yeah there's a bit of a flaw, in some ways.
Time travel fiction comes in different flavours:
1) Alternative realities, so when you make a choice in one time you jump to a different timeline/alternate universe, so when you go back forward everything's changed like Back to the Future Part II
2) Single modifiable timeline which also feature in Back to the Future Part I when the photo he has from the future is changing as he's in the past, which suggests a single timeline. See also Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.
3) The caretaker universe concept, whereby protagonists are physically unable to change time because something stops them - there's some unspecified agency preventing deviation from the script. Can't think of an example of this off the top of my head. Anyone? Bueller?
4) The deterministic free will concept as seen in Red Dwarf (Future Echoes) where they try to change the future but the future turns out to consist of the consequences of the things they did to try and change it anyway.
So which one is Dark? Well, the temporal anomaly is caused by the actions in 2019, but they then also cause another triple time loop starting in 2019. So where was the access to 2052 and presumably 2085 in 2019 before the special date? That means that in the past, the portal to the future must change at some point depending on future events, which implies that there are multiple timelines running on the same clock but 33 years apart, which doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
