Does anyone use these for bike holidays? I am currently debating whether to go for the 65 or 100L version.

I've got a 65L from bck in 2004. Would go for the 100L next time, may as well as it's going in the hold anyway.

Yeah, that's kinda the way I'm thinking at the moment.

Main issue is weight. The bag itself weighs a ton so leaves less for stuff. Used one going skiing and exceeded 20kg easily.

Otherwise mine is pretty solid after regular use over 4 years.

That is the one thing that is making me have second thoughts about it.

According to CRC the difference is 4.5kg V 5kg so not a lot in it. Obviously if you fill the 100L it will be a lot heavier but I like a bag with a but of room so I can stick all my hand luggage in there too (rucksack and laptop bag) when travelling to and from the airport as it's easier to manage and safer.

Mine is still going strong after 10 years. Like the new design with the dual pockets (my bag annoys me as the external access pocket is at the bottom not the top when you are wheeling it) and the top handles for picking it out of a car etc look useful.

Meh..... mine is getting a bit borked after maybe 4 years - used for skiing holidays and anything longer than a weekend away.

It's tearing around where the straps (joining the two haves together) attach/pass-through the fabric of the bag. I think the issue is that all the haul-straps or on the top-half of the bag... which is flexy.

I like dakine stuff, and will be looking at the updated version to see if it's a bit more burly - but Burton, rip-curl and a dew others have got similar designs out now.

It is pretty heavy, but happily seems to be spot-on 24kg when fully loaded!

I've got a Dakine, although not the split roller, and it's been used shed loads over the past 10 years and wearing very well. I think it's lost a pull-cord from a zip tag but apart from that, it's great.

Cheers, Rich

I have the 65L version and used it for 2 week skiing holidays (with board bag too) and week/weekend biking trips. Unless you take a load of clothes on holiday or hav a lot of body armour for biking I'd go for the more versatile 65L.

I will be taking body armour, although I could probably put that in the bike box.

Yeah, that is my concern, combined with the unloaded weight of the bag.
