I might be weird, but is this calander a bit anachronistic?
To be honest I'm all for the images were the female cyclist looks fantastic just on her bike or what ever, but the high heels and under wear whilst pushing a bike just seems a bit weird and wrong. This level of objectification of an individual seems terribly dated and quite off. Or is it me?

women are objectified though, sex sells, whether it be to sell a bike or a body and it's usually women's bodies that are used to sell it. But no, it's not just you.

Just google it for images Yeti, there are plenty. To be honest, if you don't like it don't put the calendar up? I find that the easiest way.....

It was just that I turned a page of MBR when I was on the train the other day and there it was. I just felt rather, embarassed.

Honestly? Everyone around you already thought you were flipping weird for reading MBR in public. 😉

It would be better if these athletes were known for their skills and ability on a bike rather than a tacky glamour calendar. Liz Hutch and Willow Koeber look awesome when in full flight over a rock garden.

I quite fancy a handjob. Wouldn't ever turn down an offer of a ride on a stiffe though.

Sorry 😳

Erm, Liz HATCH is a road rider, if she is in full flight down a rock garden then something has gone horribly wrong......

did they hold a gun to their head to make them be photographed that way?
poor downtrodden things being made to do that against their will, i thought that the hard fought emancipation of women had stopped all that?

But some of them seemed to have burned their bras so they must have protested in some way.....

In the making of DVD they all seem to be enjoying the photoshoot. Not that I've watched it or anything.

I get the impression from the "making of" video that the photographer is just a perve.

If you people don't like that kind of thing there is free choice either as a participant or as a purchaser. Pretty straightforward really.

I rather like it, but then I rather like appreciating that people are comfortable enough in their own skin to have the choice to display it for the pleasure of others if they so wish.

If you don't like the human form, don't look it's that simple really.

I like girls, I like bikes, I like athletes & I like knowing which day of the month it is. It's a product for me.

I question more who actually buys the calendar? I guess I can picture one hanging up in a workshop in a bike shop but that seems a limited market. If you want to look at fit women there are cheaper and better options :p All pretty harmless though IMO, yes it's objectifying but it's obviously something they wanted to do rather than were forced to do.

They are, aren't they? That's why they're in it. And I don't think their riding careers are in any danger of being overshadowed by their modelling careers.

Still, I do take the OP's point, it is a bit dated.

3 words spring to mind: Dated. Immature. Dumbed-down.

Do they do a calendar with scantily-clad male athletes for their potential female customers?

No?

Didn't think so ...
