Can I cut a micro sim to use as a nano in iPhone 6 plus or do I need a provider supplied one?
I think I read that they were different thickness.
My supplier is Bob.

You should be fine; my current nano-SIM started life as a regular sized one, going through micro stage in the slimming process.

Bring up a google image of a template.
Stick your tongue out one side of your mouth and squint a bit.
Cut it with scissors roughly to the template.
Worked for me 🙂

I am not sure how, but thegreatape would appear to have been looking through the window at me doing my last two... They both work.

They don't have a shop and a replacement card is 10€ hence my question.

Easy, just be careful and use sharp scissors. Basically you are cutting most of the plastic off the sim. I did 2 a few weeks ago, both worked fine.

There's much less metal on a nano. Is it ok to cut the bottom off a chip?

No idea about such wizardry for you fancy-pants phone owners, but in answer to your question about cutting the actual chip...

But I think the chip is in the middle of the metal bit, maybe???

That may be, but I'm sure the visible contacts are there for a reason?!

I am not a phone surgeon.

Where's WYSIWYGYSWYGIWY when you need him.

There are plenty of guides if you google them. I think I used the cnet one when I trimmed my two kids and my wife's simms. All worked fine. Iirc I downloaded and printed off a template as a guide. Takes about 5 minutes.

I bought a little SIM cutting tool on Ebay - £1.99 delivered from HK.

Amazing value, or would have been if it had worked. Luckily I tried on an old SIM first and it chewed it up.
