We’ve been messed about by a company via Ebay and the time has come to unleash the disputed payment department of Tesco Personal Finance on them (we used their credit card). We are in the right, so no speculation there. Basically he owes us a bundle of cash for a returned unfit item.

They’ve got copies of all the communications and are ready to unleash their hounds if this bloke doesn’t cough up ASAP.

Should I expect a result?

Anyone else had experience of this?

Yes. Online place that refused to take responsibility for not insuring their goods in transit to me and they went missing. Refused to give refund. Contacted CC company. Got refund. Company appealed, I restated my case, retained refund.

Have got them on the case too where a car insurer took a premium when I'd told them not to - and then were being slow to refund it. CC company had the money back in my account same day.

Useful to have on your side when the situation demands it.

Was it paid through Paypal? If so you will need to take it up with them first

Do credit cards cover numptys? 😉

I balanced transferred £1k last month on 9 months interest free, and didn't realise that the card (which has been dormant for a while) was still set up to make the full monthly payment. Cue brief panic last night when we checked the current account and it had repaid the full amount, luckily managed to shuffle some cash around! Going to call them later and plead stupidity!

If its a honest mistake they should just credit the money back to you.

I don't think they work on "should"s.
