How easy/cheap is it to create a website?
Partner is looking at setting up a website for a Rabbit boarding venture and would like a fairly basic website ( a few pages, showing the usual stuff (about us, gallery, services offered, prices, contact us))
Is it easy to do this yourself? If so, does it require any specialist software?
Or is it easier to pay a company to produce the site for her?
Thanks for any pointers.
Wordpress - easy for a simple site such as that.
Content & purpose is king on any site; but also make sure it looks good.
If you plan on setting it up yourself, have a look at Wordpress.
Very quick and easy. Loads of templates to choose from. Fully content managed, so updating sections is just like making a post on here. And it's free.
All you need is a domain (about a tenner), and hosting (which can cost as little as £1 a month).
You'd do well to 'build' it yourself in something like Dreamweaver and get it to look as well the free off-the-shelf stuff these days.
Ah yes, have a Blog on Wordpress, didn't cross my mind.
Many tahnks.
Wordpress is good but to get the most out of it it helps if you know your stuff. There are lots of helpful guides on the net but the wealth of knowledge a good designer will have is built up over years and that can be worth paying for.
Depends how important some of the variables are but mainly I'd say seo.
Just do something in Facebook
weebly is real easy,
I did this in about 10 mins
