Spotted a decent job in the area - planning on a move out of London in the near future but was thinking more of the Peak or somewhere west of the M1 for MTB-ing purposes so Corby isn't quite what I had in mind but the job looks good.

What's it like? Any decent riding in that area? Anyone "local"?? TIA for any intel.

The numplumz boys are local-ish.

As for the area, Corby has a bad rep. for social problems. And as a MTB biking location the surrounding area is limited. Lots of countryside but pretty flat, not masses of woodland and boggy in winter. Road riding good though ๐Ÿ™‚

Hello from Treads CC, we are a local(ish) club to Corby, being just down the road in Northampton, ditto the views on Corby above but they are trying to improve the image, however where in Corby is the job as there are plenty of places in a commutable/rideable distance to Corby, lots f little villages in the area like Weldon and Gretton, and a bit further away Rutland, hope this helps

only takes me about 25minutes to get to corby from northampton. For any decent riding your got to travel but as above good for road riding loads of quiet roads.

Dead area but some industrial works and usual shopping facilities around.

There are some wood/ride areas but nothing special.

Would buy a road bike.

Area suffers during winter with snow but hey it's a job right?
