Ypu can make cauliflower cheese whole if you have a suitable deep oven dish. Halved boiled eggs on the bottom.

You don't eat the whole.

In fact, if you've any taste, you don't eat any of it.

I always steam mine in a microwave rice cooker. And sometimes then roast in oven if I'm feeling gourmet

Low and slow. If you want it plain then just splash some oil, salt and pepper on it then cook in foil. If you want to be fancy then look at cauli Wellington recipes.

I zap mine in the Microwave to cook the core, then boil until slightly firm.

Can be from washed to on plate in <15mins, whole.

Place it in a pyrex bowl, 10 minutes in the microwave, make a nice tomato sauce pour it around the cauli., make a good white sauce pour it over the top garnish it with cheese chunks, into the oven untill bubbling and golden, nom nom nom.

Cauliflower cheese for a start.

Cut some of the hard core out from the stem, take off the coarse outer leaves and steam (the cauli, not the leaves).

I'm guessing that you've never eaten steak. It's nothing like cauliflower.

Roast it, but whatever you do don't bake it.

Pan fry it. Or oven fry it. Or pan roast it.

Are you sure it's a cauliflower?

Boil it . To anwer the quetion 'The bet way to cook a cauliflower whole is'
Cut off the stump and most of the greenery , get a large kitchen knife and ram it up the shaft and make a cross in the stump.
Bring to boil large saucepan of salted water , boil 25 - 35 mins.
Then make cauli -cheese and oven bake/ grill 12 mins to brown
Or , cut into fleurets , glaze with decent olive oil , salt and pepper and bake in oven about 180' fan for 20-25 mins till they brown on the outers .
Tastes good cooked this wway , but my god , the trumpets that follow 2 hrs later can be venomous

In the Thug Kitchen cookbook they have a great recipe for a cauliflower pasta sauce. Delicious! I always have to add in some bacon though.

+1 roasted with sprinkle of paprika, seasoning, caraway seeds etc, some crushed garlic or drizzled with garlic-infused oi. Problem if whole it won't cook all the way through until the outer is roasted to death. At least cut into quarters. Same if boiling it, the outer will disintegrate long before the stalks are cooked.

Anyway, roasted and made into a proper curry 🍛 = best thing for cauli. Delicious.

My Danish in-laws cook cauliflower whole, it's served whole in a dish and you help yourself by scooping it out as it was mash. To be able to do this is horribly overcooked.
