Just for whoever wrote the "Today's Poll". There's a thing called contact lenses - they correct your vision without having to wear glasses. It's like... miraculous.

+1.

Also feeling socially excluded from the poll

Such discrimination and exclusion. STW social engineering?

I hate cycling (or doing any sport, really) in my glasses, although cycling in contact lenses during hayfever season isn't much better. Felt distinctly puffy for the first hour or so at work this morning.

Wearing my contacts now, the only issue is having to wear reading glasses for any close work, and reading. Means I can wear my many and varied sunglasses. Especially when the weather is like it has been today. 😬

That wasn't an option either.

You can even get varifocal ones, so no need to carry glasses

Yes, me too. Wear glasses some days, wear contact lenses on days when I want to go for a run / ride or just when I want to.

...adverts for Acuvue Oasys in the side bar as I type, which is my favourite contact lens, although pricey.

Wait. You have a favourite?!? What is this based on?

I ask because I have not got on with my current lenses, and have just assumed that it's because lenses are not very comfortable. Can a different brand make a significant difference?

Used those for a couple of years before moving to a different optician where he switched me to CooperVision Biofinity lenses. Apparently they both have the same technology, with CooperVision being significantly cheaper. Worth a try.

They did to me - when I changed optician he tried me on a few brands, but I went back to Cooper Vision as they were the most comfortable by far. Acuvue were horrible... and harder to put into me eyeball.

I wouldn't really say they are my "favourite" though. Just the ones I use.
