Planting up one this weekend.
Looking for inspiration, ideas on what to plant etc.
All suggestions welcome 8)
*no not those herbs 😆
We had one in our front garden (when we were in a house that didn't have a lot of passing traffic - where we live now, everything would taste of exhaust) and did a sort of checkerboard of slabs with herbs planted in the gaps. You could go and pick them in the rain, they all stayed separated and you would brush up against them as you walked through and it would smell nice.
Mint, Thyme, Marjoram, Oregano, Basil, Rosemary, Sage, Parsley etc.
We have Mint (in a pot - it will invade the garden in the ground), Parsley (in a pot cos it only lasts 2 years) Thyme, Rosemary, Lemon Thyme, oregano and Fennel.
Will get some pics later
I planted Rosemary, Thyme, Sage, Fennel, Parsely (flat & Curly) and Garlic Chives last weekend. I've still got chives from last year and the mint from last year is starting up too. It's all in big pots to keep it close to the back door. I've got no chance of growing Basil and Oregano outside though as I live in NE Scotland. I may plant out some lemon thyme and possibly get a bay tree too.
I got all of those as plants from a garden centre but last year I got rosemary and mint from the supermarket and planeted them out and they lasted for a year. I will however never try and grow them from seeds ever again. Way more hassle than it's worth.
