Ive been offered a company car through work. which includes fuel paid for by my employer.
Can anyone recommend a car that's cheap on company car tax?
VW Golf blue motion
Vauxhall Ampera (we're working through (electricity) charging costs on that at the minute)
Basically anything under 99g/km
Basically the lower the emissions the lower the tax for the same list price.
However whatever tax you have to pay for the car will be a small proportion of the tax you have to pay for the fuel you'll get for free, that's a big taxable benefit.
I pay £32 a month tax for my Ford Focus 1.6tdci Econetic estate.
Any hybrid - if your budget stretches to one. I've heard of a few employers increasing budgets for staff in these circumstances as they can reclaim certain costs through their tax bill when purchasing them.
I do well with the BMW 320 efficient dynamics. Not sure what the monthly cost is but it's much less than the crap peugeot it replaced.
Just to add, do you need the car for work?
If not, do they also offer an allowance instead? Unless you drive a lot of personal miles (business miles would be expenses usually 43p per mile), it's often (usually) better to take that rather than the company car.
You might be better off leasing and being paid by the mile.
Google it, you'll then find a calc which'll help.
No point asking here without knowing your budget, restrictions etc.
any New BMW with the 2.0 is worth it. the 5 series has dropped ED as it's been deamed it outperforms the original scope of the ED designs.. there's a new 5 series model being launched soon - i want...

I don't really do many buisness miles. Budget is up to £25k. Id like a Golf GTE is cheap tax but a little over budget.
New nissan qashqai 1.5 diesel is a superb car and 99g co2. I have one on order as my Golf is up for renewal. Tried a new golf but the nissan just felt better in every way.

Yes, but how many private (including commuting) miles do you do - as these are the ones to contra against the fuel tax.
Also will the company car be insured for your spouse etc - no impact on tax but means you can do MOST/ALL private miles in the company car. Some companies though restrict private usage of fuel.
