I've found this thread http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/debt-recovery-companies and was wondering if anyone else has any experience of them?
Basically a friend of mine paid for some equipment which wasn't dispatched before the company folded (yes I know!). He's been contacted by CDI ltd who have offered to chase the debt, based on the directors acting fraudulently, for a management fee of £350 + vat. He lost £3,500.
I'm 99.9% sure this is a VERY bad idea, but I thought I'd chuck it out there [s]for the entertainment value[/s] for one final check before I stop him throwing good money after bad.
Any recommendations for legitimate companies who do this sort of thing on a cost recovery basis (no win no fee) would also be welcome.
