Seen this before... Bloody impressive work, when I worked in forestry we had some close quarter felling to do. Was a few ssqueaky but moments I can tell you!!

Very skillful - he seems to have taken out moe than a simple wedge, more like creating a step for it to hinge over on.

You'd often leave a step - gives the tree a hinge point and stops it kicking out in your face 😯 The point of the wedge is normally a touch higher than the backcut.

But very skilled work in the OP 🙂
