Thanks for that. Anyone got any ideas about how I should now get my testicles out of my stomach?

I fail to see the problem with that. That planking must be at least 10 inches wide. Lots of space.

Mind you, I'd be tempted to base jump it if I went on it.

I like the CCTV camera mounted on the rock, i wonder if it has caught many you've been framed moments.

It depends how much absinthe I'd've had. Not long though I suppose.

It's a path in the Himalayas that goes across a sheer rock wall and around a big bluff using nothing but a few pegs bashed into the rock and some planks between you and a stupefying void.

Its not that scary. There is a safety guide all the way so you just have to clip in and then fall off a few times and (hopefully) bounce around a few times then it does not feel half as scary. At least that is what I used to do when I was climbing and I really was afraid of heights.

It's via ferrata line - quite safe as you can clip-in to the cable with a braking device on a short leash. What a terrific position to be in! I'd want to do it with someone who knew the route though. I'd be worried about wood rot. In the Alps they often just sink iron bars into the rock at step intervals. even scarier but they don't rot.

People talking about how safe it is - I don't reckon the video maker is clipped in, and most locals don't bother by the sound of things. Not sure it's really via ferrata in the european sense, those chains are primarily for grabbing hold of apparently and it doesn't look stunningly well maintained either.

Interesting and well written account of going up it about halfway down this page - http://www.ssqq.com/archive/vinlin27d.htm

These steps are elsewhere on the path btw - anyone fancy riding them?
