I didn't know this- I thought just clearing your browser history deleted all your previous visits to STW etc- your internet history will always be on the system/cached on your PC?

And if you're signed into Google or Facebook they've probably got a very good idea of where you've been as well.
You can use something like CCleaner to clean up cookies, cached pages, images etc or you should be able to do it from inside your browser, but you'll need to select more than just browsing history.

...also, consider Incognito/secure mode in the future.
