What a cracking pair of goals tonight.

That is all from one very happy Geordie.

I loved the clip of Drogba and Pardew; Pardew saying something like you can't defend against that and Drogba agreeing with a grin.

My grandad, a Wallsend man, always used to say that you could put 11 cardboard cutouts out at St James' Park and you'd still get 30,000 turn up to watch them. And a tailor's dummy in a number 9 shirt would still be given the freedom of the city. They've had a few of variable quality in recent times but this boy is something special.

The other thing he used to say to me as a reason for not going to the match when I was a kid and pestering him to take me to see them was 'They never come to see me when I'm bad (= ill) Still makes me chuckle now I understand it.

Looking at the league Witt an "if only" for the Wigan game. Nevermind looks an interesting end to the season. Lots of teams all very close to each other.

The 1st goal was a cracker, the second had a big dose of fortune about it, still cracking season by Newcastle, would love to see them beat Tottenham to that 4th spot, just not this weekend.

Does every goal not have fortune about it? They chance hitting it sweet and the goaly not being able to reach.

He meant this!

He's a Geordie legend, for how long though? Citeh, real Madrid and man u must be getting interested.

No, he hit it at the near corner and it spun out to the far corner.

There's only him and Crouch in it for goal of the season. Outstanding strike!

Best bit of business anyone's done for a while. Punt on Carrol for £35 million, then get Ba on a free, and Cisse for £10 million. I'd love to see the toon finish 3rd. Particularly if it involves beating city en route 😀

A question to the Newcastle fans. Whats the general opinion about Mike Ashley now? I'm genuinely interested. Has he got the fans back on side? Or are you still reserving judgment? Pardew's appointment is looking like a stroke of genius IMHO

Speaking personally, I'm still a wee bit sceptical about Mike Ashley. As said above, other (read larger/richer) clubs will be sniffing around our star performers in the summer. Fair enough if you get offered silly money for someone, and they want to go, then it's good business. But the threat of Ashley dismantling a team that may have a chance of silverware next season still seems all too real to me.

I think our prize asset at the moment is Graham Carr - what a scout! We need to keep hold of him more than most.

Thoroughly enjoying the experience at the moment though...it's like 1994/5 all over again (only with better defending!)

have you asked him have you? tell me, what level did you play at?

Ashley sold Enrique because he wanted to leave, Nolan and Barton because of their bad influence and the stifling affect they were having on the new buys (especially Cabaye) and Carroll because he got a price about £25 million over value.

I honestly believe Ashley thinks he can make a very good living out of keeping the team together. but, yeah if he gets offered daft money, he'll sell...

A striker would claim it was intended if it bounced in off his ass 🙄

He hit it on the half volley with the outside of his boot, yes, he aimed at the near corner, catch it right, and of course it's gonna swerve like that

pretty sure he was aiming for the goal and it went in so however lucky it was it was he still meant it

of course he meant it. Doesn't mean it always comes off though - any park player could have scored that goal given enough tries, difference is that Cisse would manage it 1/20 or 1/50 as opposed to 1/100,000.

If players always got it right, then they'd be shooting from everywhere and games would all end 15:14. They play the percentages; it came off this time. Lucky - maybe, but still utterly brilliant.

You can obviously remember Jason Lee (he's got a pineapple on his head) when he played for Forest. I once saw him score a hat-trick, none of which went in the goal in the way he intended and one of them literally did go in off his backside.
