After more false starts than a virgin groom on wedding night I will finally be getting on the bike to travel to work and, with any luck, back again.
I have an i-pod device that has languished, utterly unused since bought 2 Christmases ago (technophobe, moi??). I need to learn about this new technology and press it into service, your collective mission is to go ahead and spend £7.90 of my very own money = 100 choonz or so for you to pick.....
Actually. make that £7.11 as I've just made my first selection
Imsomnia - can't get no sleep - pumping choon for use returning home - uphill all the way (back up the locks on the canal..., nearly always into a headwind.......
Don't let that choice guide you, my tastes are pretty varied...
So, what's your top choon?
So, what's your top choon?
Traffic
geoff - as would mine be if I was using the road, fortunately i have the towpath option (tunes will be off for the road sections either end...)
[url=
- Careful With That Mic
Well in that case then - something with a high tempo to keep that cadence up.
Killers - Change Your Mind (on Sawdust)
Moby - Lift Me Up (Mylo Mix)
The Libertines - Can't stand me now
New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle
The Ting Tings - Be the one
The Hold Steady - Sequestered in Memphis
Arctic Monkeys - Dancing Shoes
😀
gecko - not sure of the tune but EVERYONE should watch that vid - mind blowing - i've seen nowt like it - i could not walk that let alone uni-cycle it - mental..... 😯
geoff - nice start!
The Revolution Will Not Be Televised - Gil Scott Heron
The Weight - The Band
Rockefeller Skank - Fatboy Slim
2080 - Yeasayer
I Think We're Alone Now - Snuff (yes, a punk cover of that Tiffany classic)
Er, I'll think of some more....
My commuting ears this week have mostly enjoyed:
MGMT - Kids
Underworld - Cowgirl (utterly utterly brilliant)
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Phenomena
Various Production - Puff Rider
!!! - Must be the Moon
and Soft Cell - Sex Dwarf
Ooh yeah.
Traffic is a rubbish soundtrack and often lulls you into a false sense of security with these uber-quiet cars about these days - better off to wear earphones and assume you'll have to visually identify every threat IMO.
7.90 = 100 tunes? I think not.
CK - whilst I think you may have missed the info that i'l be mostly on the canal towpath, you did not miss the glaring error I saw just after teh 'edit' facility was gone, figured i'd just let things roll though....... 🙄
Keep 'em coming - the 'listen to a bit' function on i'tunes will be used and I will be shopping for stuff that may be new to me......
Ta!
Chris

Nope, didnt miss that - was replying to geoff, not you 🙂
CK - we can only hope Darwin was right 😉
Ooh, part 5 of the Dirtchamber Sessions got me part of the way home tonight. Fantastic!
Indeedy geoff - anyone relying on ears when there are near-silent cars about is sure to be lost from the gene pool very soon, lets hope they adopt the "look first" method soon! 😆 😉 Used to commute 34 miles a day with tunes on 😀
I just play my favourite tunes, rather than specific commuter tunes, what's the advantage?
Don't forget to use Amazon as their choons are cheaper and can be loaded onto an iPod with the software they supply.
Breathe - Prodigy
Mr Blue Sky - ELO (came up on shuffle last week and was great to ride to)
Beautiful Day - Elbow
Woke Up This Morning (Sopranos Theme Mix) - Alabama 3
Transmission - Joy Division
Peaches - The Stranglers
Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger - Daft Punk
