I've just finished watching the HBO series about Chernobyl on Amazon Prime.
But it seems you have to pay extra to watch it. But I didn't. On one TV, which has the Amazon app, it appeared with 'You own this' below it. On another TV, and logging into my amazon account on a PC it doesn't show up, doesn't say 'continue watching' either. Not on my account details of recent purchases either.
So how have I managed to watch it?
No idea but what a cracking series 🙂
It's not even on Amazon that I can see - HBO shows are on Sky in the UK. Are you sure you were watching it there?
HBO is an extra pay channel on Prime.
Seems odd like your accounts aren’t synced.
I only have Amazon Prime. Not Sky, HBO Netflix.
Agreed that it's odd that I only had it on one TV.
Maybe you had a trail for HBO they sometimes do them, it was the only way to watch Chernobyl on Prime.
A trial that allowed me to watch 5 episodes?
Yup, some are a time period but usually just 7 days.
It was the Chernobyl that was on Sky a few months back?
Took longer then 7 days to watch. The series starring Jared Harris, Stellan Skarsgard etc. I'm looking at the details now on the TV that doesn't allow me to watch it.
Buy episode 1 for £2.49, Season 1 for £11.99. On the TV downstairs, same account, they're free (or paid for).
I may have watched the 'series' 'by other means' ... whoops....
That is most odd then.
Have you logged onto the amazon website to check?
Yes, nothing on my purchases related to any video or film. I've never paid for anything on prime apart from the monthly subs.
(What's that image posting site? I've got some screen shots.)

The Chernobyl audio podcast is also excellent gives more explanation of the events in each episode.
Use the direct link option Rich.
It is.
Should show the screen on the TV that I can watch it. Says You own episode 2.
The direct link option only has the jpg link.
Anyway yeah shows you’ve bought it on TV, I’m as puzzled as you.

Only thing I suggest is double check it is the same account not a family member.
I'm not too bothered! Just don't see how it happened! No one else uses Prime on my login. Even if someone else paid for it, it should be available everywhere, and it isn't!
Nope don’t suppose it matters when you got to watch it.
+1 for the podcast to go with the series.
Mystery Solved!
Son had brought the series on his account, and had logged into his account on the TV, and not logged out when he left to return to his home.
In my defence, I did check the Prime account settings on the TV, but it didn't say anywhere what the account name was.
I’ll send you my address for the £5.
I blame the poorly written app.
But it kept us amused for a few minutes.
