Il Bottelinos is a nice friendly environment the food is good and reasonable price. Depends what you want really. Zizzis is supposed to be good too. Not been there personally but will try it at some point.

been to zizzis and not overly impressed, usually go to Storyteller which is southern us style i think, went to siam smile last night that was ok. Found Vanillas a bit up themselves. Also there is daffodil, Then there are the usual chains type places. The other half went to pirandello said it was nice. To be fair there are alot of restaurants in Cheltenham. And that is before you start considering places like the Corse lawn hotel, the old inn at arlingham, etc.

If you are after expensive there is the champignon sauvage, 2 michelin stars type food, haven't been but meant to be nice.

been to zizzis and not overly impressed,

Went to Zizzis in Milton Keynes on Wednesday - didn't realise at the time it was a chain. Worst meal I have had in a very long time - bad service, bad food, bad wine.

Daffodil is excellent, but pricey. Merlot (I think, on Regent Street) is good. Moran's on Bath Road is always popular

Curry Corner is excellent, but pricey. Indian Brasserie/India Lounge both v.good

Gianni's for proper cheesey-waitered, wine in raffia covered bottles, good value Italian. Or Zizzi/Prezzo/Ask for what-it-says-on-the-tin chain Italian.

Ruby is an excellent Chinese

and about a million more

There's a nice proper tex-mex restaurant in Cheltenham, that's where I'd go.

that mexican place shut down a year or so ago. Chicitos (spelling?) is in the brewery complex, not that impressed with it. my favs are;

Storeyteller
flynns
Zizzi's
curry corner
bottelinos

there is a really good moroccan at the back of the swan pub. really nice but pricey.
