Ive got Sonos in the house and quite happy with it, but as we all know it is a little spendy so I'm looking for ways to play music from my iphone on a traditional amp. I have options of RCA or USB connections on the amp so either looking for some USB Bluetooth streaming dongle thingie or I guess something similar that will plug into the RCA's on the back. Any thoughts?
An airport express will appear cheap compared to a Sonos connect and will work very nicely with your iphone. I have tried bluetooth (which can be much cheaper again) for streaming but find it annoying that the music stops as soon as you go too far away with the phone in your pocket.
I use an Airport Express, cost about £80. I also connected it by CAT5 cable to the router downstairs, so I get better wifi signal in top of house.
BlueRigger cables are cheap and in my experience, good quality.

Cheapest way would be to just run a line-out from the back of your amp to somewhere it's easy to plug in the iphone to.

Airport Express would be my suggestion too - so simple.
I got an old airport express off ebay for about £15. Had to faff around a little finding the right configuration software as Apple no longer support it but it works a treat.
You can get A2DP adaptors with a 3,5mm stereo out for pennies on EBay / Amazon

Most need charging / powering from USB which is easy enough to sort. RCA - 3.5mm stereo easy too.
Doh! What do I have about 10ft away from the amp? Yup an airport express. I totally forgot it could stream music,,I just use it for a wireless access point. Will go and buy myself a suitable,long rca to 3.5mm cable. Cheers all.
I have an amp and speakers plugged into the tele, chromecast in the tele, and just stream to that.
