Hi All

I'm currently using a mac and i want to run VAG COM the vw audi diagnostic software. To do this I need to run xp through bootcamp, for which I need a copy of XP. Does anyone know where you can get a legal yet hopefully cheap or free copy of xp? I really cant afford alot - hence the requirement for VAG COM rather than just booking my car into the garage to get diagnosed!!

but it appears someone has it going in Linux using WINE

sofware for students would flog you W7 for about 40 quid

TBH, I reckon your best bet is to find a mate with an XP laptop. Shouldn't be too outlandish an ask.

Either that, or the WINE suggestion.

Dumb question, but have you tried ebay? Sift through the dodgy stuff and you'll find some genuine copies - people who've upgraded to W7 and have an old, now uninstalled, XP that they're trying to sell.

Thats what I need to get - the turbo is overboosting and dropping the car into limp mode - I want to be able to look at what the pressure in the turbo both sides are doing to try and work out what isnt working right. From what I understand is can be vanes on the turbo sticking or being mal adjusted, vacuum hoses or the map sensor being out
