Yeah you get what you pay for the rubber seemed to vulcanise and split quite quickly so you will end up spending the same over 12 months as if you buy a better quality blade.
If you have an older VW and want some of the newer designed blades there is a chap on ebay who sells them for under a tenner for a pair and they work really well (absolutely no lift off the screen at motorway speeds).

my story of cheap wiper blades which ended this week...
Bought some halfords own blades about 18 months ago. they made a horrendous noise everytime they initiated - they dragged and clunked. It was very annoying to the point where I would see how long I could let rain build up before having to use them. Because I was too tight to pay for the fitting I put it down to the fact I had probably fitted them wrong, and I put up with them until... I had some halfords vouchers a year later and so replaced them... with more Halfords own. Which made the same stupid noise. So this time I went back and told them the story so far and said I need to buy Bosch ones because the Halfords ones are 'a bit cheap'. This from their own guys who seemingly know of the problem but do nothing about it. Their website says 'why pay expensive dealership prices?' - my car was just serviced and they noticed the problem and replaced the wipers without asking. I paid less for fitted Bosch wipers than Halfords own unfitted and they are beautifully silent and clean-wiping.
Lesson learnt. Best £15 I've spent on that car.
Yes .....I thought as much ,,,but you know what its like ........deep inside mr Miser is thinking they cant be that bad Maybe everyone is wrong ....but no! I will listen this time as I once had squeaky wipers also and it drove me crackers Chinese torture .
Thank you for leading me in the right direction ...I have seen the Wipe .

Tesco's flat blade ones are reduced in price at the moment, they're pretty good & only £4 each.
Otherwise, just go see what your local motor factors recommend.
I always use Bosch one's normally bought off ebay.
