Hi everyone.
We're looking to go on a family holiday to the Alps, ideally Chamonix or somewhere in that region.
Can anyone on here recomend somewhere they've been and would go again?
Ideally a typical Alpine Chalet near a sensible sized town.
Thanks for any suggestions, I've tried the ususal holiday-rentals/interhome etc. but sometimes recommendations are the best.

We have had a couple of great family holidays with Gravite in la clusaz. It's a few hours drive from chamonix near annecy. The couple that run it, Dave and Sam are good fun and lay on a good spread in the evening. If you're kids are active then plenty to do - we did cycling, walking, high ropes, par ascending, golf, swimming, picnics by annoy lake, mountain marathon running etc etc. Think there is a hot tub in there now.
My mates place Chalet Ribot, its at Alp D'huez.
A client of ours has www.chalet365.com - lovely couple and a gorgeous place to stay
We've had some great weeks in Samoens with places booked through http://www.alpsaccommodation.com/
I've stayed in Chalet Whymper in Chamonix with these guys, it wouldn't suit a family (it's basically a BnB) but they have others..

..or you could try here, I've used them once. They (well it's one girl I think) are good at getting you accommodation but we paid quite a bit in commission over the hotel price.
