We will be in touch
Having got three quotes for installing a central heating system (3-bed 70's terrace) and new boiler, I've been a bit taken aback by the prices. I was expecting that the whole thing would come in at £3.5-4k, but we've had two quotes in excess of £6k. Admittedly, they look like they'd do an excellent job, but it's quite a wodge more than we can pay!
I'm wondering how much this is affected by the fact that we probably couldn't pick a worse time to have it done. Anyone reckon it would be a significantly different story if we were to be looking for quotes in the spring?
Any other tips for how to bring it down? We're as insulated as we can be I think, and we're only looking for basic rads, a boiler and separate hot water tank. In Surrey if anyone has any recommendations. Thanks 😀
DIY?
I wish. Sadly I don't have the time, tools or skill for that.
I would say run all the pipes / fit radiators etc as that's a major faff. Then you could just get the 'pro' to fit the boiler for you (although that's not exactly difficult).
where in Surrey?
Reigate.
Mmm not too far away.
